This is not a DJ set - it's a live jam session of A Guy Called Gerald original music NO LOOPS using Reason X 2 incorporating acapellas. Recorded at The Deaf Institute in Manchester at The Red Bull Music Academy.

I wanted to prove that you can switch from techno into jungle live using reason... some people like it, some people hate it when I do this.... I started doing Jungle in 1991 - does anyone remember how cheesy techno got in 1991? This is WHY we created Jungle. 

Techno and house basically sold out... The only reason I came back to doing techno was because there were friends of mine pleading for me to do it...people who enjoyed the stuff I was doing in the late 80s. So if anyone has any kind of beef with anything to do with jungle let me remind you about your 90's times with your dummy in your mouth and your Vicks vapour rub!

Honey Soundsystem tried so long to get a mix from venerable LA turned SF turned LA underground queen-pin JENILUV that we thought she'd blue ball us into gay-ternity. Since day one we have been equally as enamored as fearful of her talent and repertoire and this mix leaves us without doubts. Her roots in the San Francisco house music scene runs back to her days in the early 00's doing Fistfight (with rebel rouser club royal Jenny Young), Deep Shit (with Charlotte the Baroness), and DHP (Deep House Project). These days you can find her pushing it all over Los Angeles at her Making Shapes / JACK undergrounds or at the people lucky enough to snag her for a set at their nights. 

As always, this mix was recorded in something all black - potentially denim, potentially distressed, potentially that cost nothing to her but a fortune to someone else 20 years ago. You better work.

I mixed this Early Works Mixtape using only vinyl from 1987 - 2002. All tracks in this mix are my solo Mr.C tracks & remixes with only vocal collaborations except for theopening track, which I did with Eddie Richards as my first ever release. Therefore there's no Shamen, Bass Bureau, Killer Loop, Animus Amor, Sycophant Slags, Indigo Kidz or East LA Tek. Mr.C Collaborations will be a future podcast, as will the Mr.C Latter Works from 2003 - 2020.

I've made it downloadable because I can. ;)
