Pegasus, the winged horse of Greek mythology, has captured the imagination for millenia. The constellation Pegasus, named for this dramatic mythical horse, is one of the largest and most easily identified in the night sky. Northern Hemisphere observers can see Pegasus in the evening from July to January, while Southern Hemisphere observers can see it from December to May.

At my latitude in western Wisconsin, Pegasus reaches its Midnight Culmination in late September. At that time, the constellation reaches its highest point in the sky at midnight.
As both a Druid and a singer-songwriter, I celebrate the Midnight Culmination of the Winged Horse. When I sing with the constellation's stars and nebulae, I gallop through the Universe on equine wings!

Sonification is the process of mapping a data set or image to sound. Developed by NASA to help in the interpretation of astronomical data, sonification has been embraced by musical artists, as well.

For Equus Stellarus, I created a sonification of three prominent astronomical objects in Pegasus (Einstein's Cross, Elliptical Galaxy, and NGC7331) as well as stars of the constellation itself. AfterGlow Access (idataproject.org/resources/) was the software used to create the sonification. I then combined these sonifications and sang to them.

And the Star Horse took flight!

Here is my next cover of Hans Zimmer's arrangement for Inception, 'Time'.

A truly inspirational piece of music with it's simple melody and evolving dynamic!

I didn't want to interfere with it too much so a lot of the song was created using the same instruments however, you will hear for yourselves what i decided to do at the end for the ultimate climax.
