Snatcher takes on an expanded Napstablook role. After fulfilling multiple tasks for Snatcher throughout her adventure (whether through pacifism or violence,) Bow is stopped by him in a hall right before Mustache Girl's throne room. After biding his time for so long, Snatcher finally pounces; as far as he's concerned, the time has come for Bow's head to pop off, like every other contractor before her. He also pulls out an old trick and steals Bow's (well) bow, greatly limiting her ability to protect herself/counterattack. The fight for her life begins now!

I'm late to the punch by a couple days, but for the 1-year anniversary of my starting this AU OST, I wanted to give the track that (ironically enough) started it all a new coat of paint. Compared to the V1, I decided to strip this track "back to basics," so to speak. There are some *tiny* transcription additions, and I actually took more inspiration from this track's namesake for the backing strings/choir in the second half, but otherwise I wanted this new version to be closer in spirit to the original An Ending from UT.
Also I'll fully admit something here. Belowexchange's "What Comes Next" (https://soundcloud.com/silverswap/what-comes-next) -- which is fucking fantastic btw! -- is what inspired me to put both the V1 from my main and this new version in the key of F minor (and also influenced the backing a bit.) The way I initially did it on the V1 though was... fucking messy, to say the least. Redid it from the ground up and actually crossreferenced a proper *SCALE* for F minor this time, so everything on this update should now be one consistent key lmao.
All in all, I am FAR happier with how this attempt turned out, and I hope you guys enjoy! --Ashley

The vast majority of this is a straight remix of the original Oh It's You from AHIT; as Snatcher doesn't change between there and this AU, I figured it was the most fitting avenue to take. Didn't want this to have NOTHING majorly new though, so I also decided to use the Moonside Cafe to play the vocal melody from Man on the Internet's lyrical cover! It was somehow EVEN MORE OF A PAIN IN THE ASS to transcribe than Don't Forget was over on my main, even taking creative liberties into account, but it was well worth the effort.
This was also my first foray into figuring out how LFO works with TX16WX. It was always something I did in Mixcraft itself through the MIDI modulation functions, so it was surreal (yet satisfying) to figure out within a complex soundfont player, and by total mistake too lmao. DJ Grooves takes on the role of Papyrus, and the Conductor is in Mettaton's place. That's right, you actually *don't* get to face Grooves on his own during the Entropy run! He's nowhere to be seen in his usual spot in Alpine Skyline, and then Bow only sees him again when she makes it to the end of Dead Bird Studios, where the Conductor is already waiting.
Anyhow, it may have taken the pending apocalypse for it to finally happen, but Grooves and Conductor have buried the hatchet. Their goal now is to take Bow down, and unlike the parallel UT fight, they're no pushovers here. =)

Bow Kid is still Frisk... but that hardly matters anymore. The bright and cheerful, yet nervous Bow that first landed on the planet is GONE. Her original desire of going home has long been forgotten, and only one goal drives this emotionless shell of her former self forward: *finish what she started.* 
Hat Kid takes Sans' place. With Bow's killing spree pushing everything to the brink, Hat Kid realizes that she just can’t stand back and watch time and space be torn asunder. As much as she doesn't want to do it deep down, she signs a new contract with Snatcher, selling her soul in exchange for WAY more power. Harriet is deadset on protecting what's left of this timeline and correcting the cataclysm Bow Kid caused, not wanting a repeat of her failure to with Mustache Girl before, and she doesn't care how much of herself she has to give up to accomplish this goal.
Snatcher is in a (heavily expanded) Napstablook role. Given that you have killed off everyone that Snatcher could have possibly roped into working for him, and maybe a part of him that he won't acknowledge caring for Hat Kid, he offers his "contractually obligated BFF" direct assistance in addition to the power boost. As far as he's concerned now, Bow's contract expired a LONG time ago, and it's time to make her head pop off like all the other contractors before her.

SO! Definitely will be having more tracks for this AU coming down the line, updates included, but let's be real folks. This is DEFINITELY the track a lot of you were looking forward to the most. Well, thanks to Nick's incredible talents, it's now a reality at long last -- and at a really convenient time too! Not only is this account close to breaching 50 followers -- thank you all for your support by the way! -- but A Hat In Time, one of the two games this AU is based around, will be 5 years old on October 5th!! So ye, consider the timing of this release an early treat for both occasions! ;)
Anyhow, I'm incredibly pleased with how the track turned out. There was a somewhat different idea pitched initially (hence why the Adventure's End sample is there,) but Nick took the notes and ran with them in a MUCH better direction for the piece, while still being fitting for what I had in mind for the AU. It was really nice working with Nick, and I'll definitely be using his services again, should they be available.

By this point in the route, Harriet's such a nervous wreck, she's barely able to finish even a single sentence. And unfortunately for her, this fight is only going to make things worse for her now-fragile mental state...
DJ Grooves is in Papyrus' role. He's been looking everywhere for Harriet, what with the strange things starting to happen in Alpine, but he's not at all pleased to see the condition she's in. In a last ditch effort to stop... whatever Bow's been doing to his friend, DJ Grooves initiates a battle. ...Very poor choice of final moments. =)

So yeah, the rare and exotic In My Way replacement. What I did here was take the Anticipation that I commissioned from Luggi, layer on an additional bass instrument and the SGM soundfont's heart beat "instrument," then apply effects (namely delay, reverb, speed reduction and minor EQ.) And yes, the "heart beat" was VERY MUCH drawing deliberate inspiration from "berdly_battle_heartbeat_true." The more obvious reason is a certain route's existence in Time's End, but the other is that (well) the Monster Kid moment from the Genocide Route doesn't rly exist in this AU, and the encounter with DJ Grooves on the TimeWarp Route is the closest equivalent. So ummmm yup, the In My Way replacement plays there instead.

But yeah... given the context of the AU (plus Mu's motivations at this point,) I figured a bog standard ASGORE replacement wouldn't do the job as well. So needless to say, a different direction was VERY much taken here. The goal of this track was to fuse the general vibe/stylings of Attack of the Killer Queen, with the emotional tone + some additional instrumentation and section ideas from ASGORE; and hey, why not have some "heavy" parts to boot! Wound up working out far better than I'd initially planned when I commissioned Kristian, and I'm so insanely happy with how this turned out. He did a fantastic job as usual, especially with putting together so many ideas cohesively, and I went fucking *ham* putting the final bow on everything. The guitar sections especially were the perfect excuse for me to put my new amp VST -- Shreddage Amp XTC -- through its paces.

But as the story progresses, Bow Kid notices more and more strange breadcrumbs (Hat Kid's up-and-down friendship with him being only one of em,) and by the time Bow reaches the end of Alpine Skyline, Grooves fully lets the cat out of the bag. He's been biding his time for years, waiting for an opportunity to attempt seizing Mustache Girl's Time Pieces, and he's realized... killing Bow Kid would give him *just such an opportunity.*

HAPPY (belated) NEW YEAR Y'ALL, BET YOU WEREN'T EXPECTING THIS HUH?
Anyhow, the first of several tracks in what I'll call a "commission backlog" (for simplicity's sake) has finally come to fruition: the Bonetrousle for the AU! I ALWAYS wanted to completely and utterly wreck the formula with this pair of tracks from the moment I cooked up Time's End, but I wasn't entirely sure of HOW for the longest time (even to the point of me attempting to start... and even scrapping one or two shit ideas.) It was only relatively *recently* that I realized "hey. LEAN INTO THE DISCO VIBE THAT GROOVES HAS, DUMBASS! also fuckin uhhhh `spend some kromer and support an awesome musician` to boot." And Nahg did a FANTASTIC job bringing this life; we'd be here all day if I tried to go in depth bout what I like, but just for a small thing, the fakeout at the very start with the Nyeh was a very nice touch on his part. Y'all should DEFO commission him if you get the opportunity to, he was awesome to work with and it's more than worth it!

The Empress takes the role of Undyne. She already had a major sense of resentment to Bow Kid before (however misplaced it may have *initially* been,) but as her cat goons are mercilessly whittled down to nothing in the Entropy route... something finally snaps, beyond the point of no return. She's consumed by the urge for vengeance for not just herself, but for all of her Nyakuza (the only ones she even *remotely* cared about aside from herself.) Armed with a prototypical battle suit, she will use her final stand to make Bow pay for ever crossing her gang.
...Unfortunately for her however, the battle suit's own inherent teething troubles -- combined with the poorly-executed tech alterations not helping matters -- means that it's eventually unable to withstand anymore damage, suffering a critical error and beginning to self-destruct. The Empress winds up going out in such a blaze of glorious fury, there aren't even any *ashes* left where she once stood.

To start off... I'm not even gonna lie. I couldn't come up with a good title for this one to save my dick... so BIG thanks to Jacket of Diamonds (@coat-of-red) for the name. I'm a real mf Asgore when it comes to naming things X'D
Anyhow, a bit later than I said I'd share it, but here's the AU's BAATH replacement! Similarly to the BTERTD replacement, I mentioned The Final Antasma Battle from Mario & Luigi Dream Team as a stylistic reference for this track when commissioning it (parallels to the MEGALOVANIA + I thought it was fitting for Empress, especially in Entropy.) Doubt I'll ever release it, but this time I also provided a "test" mashup of sorts with some of the ideas I was looking for. Shade took everything and ran with it in GLORIOUS fashion. I deliberately went with very non-traditional choices here, and he knocked it right out of the park -- and even improved on my initial idea in a fair few regards!

Mustache Girl takes on a hybrid Asgore and Asriel role. Years ago, she took Hat Kid's Time Pieces and set into motion a chain of events that would drastically change the world as everyone knew it, and put it firmly in her hands to rule. She thought this would be the best way to serve "proper" justice back then, but now? She's just tired. Mu's *been* done with this for quite some time, and she feels deeply trapped. Trapped by the people she already turned against her years ago, by her (in hindsight) rather bullheaded quest that's lost all its appeal of pursuing, by the all-encompassing kingdom she never realized she didn't want... and by an unending feeling of loneliness and sadness. The spark that started this mess is long gone (and that's putting it lightly,) but Mu sure as hell isn't going to actually say it, let alone give up without a fight. Cause the one thing that never *truly* went away was Mu's stubborness/committment, no matter how much it tears her apart inside.

Hat Kid is in the role of Sans. The whole dinner scene thing earlier on in the AU is still chill n all, but after Bow's final encounter with Conductor, Hattie can't help but feel bad for not giving her the full truth about things as they currently stood (and has been wracked with publically-repressed guilt over the state of the world for years now.) So in another twist, *Hat Kid* is actually the one that largely gives the whole backstory monologue thing to Bow. Though some of the NPCs on the sidelines *do* still chime in ever so often with their own comments about how much Mustache Girl sucks... much to Hat Kid's discomfort.

Still not the actual track I commissioned from Kristian, but I figured "hey, while I have the ACTUAL Memory replacement now, and since I think the old version sucked ass, let's redo the Track 71 replacement too!" Definitely more "minor" sounding than the old one, and nowhere near as chipper in tone, but I think this fits a bit better now.
Did still reuse a fair few aspects from the V1, namely a lot of the instrumentation and general progression, but everything was pitched down/adjusted as needed to match the new Memory replacement (https://soundcloud.com/ahit-times-end-ost/reflections-past.) Wound up replacing and swapping in other motifs in certain cases, even though one of them is likely blended in a bit *too* well in this final mix lmao. This track probably more *directly* reveals the influence behind the actual commissioned track -- the His Theme for the AU (ik shocker to end all shockers) -- and thus, what this and the Memory were built from. ;)

The Conductor fills Mettaton's shoes in this world. He may be the sole greatest influencer in the bird entertainment now (thanks to him ousting Grooves during the initial "Time's End" fiasco) but... he's *incredibly* bored and agitated. There are no obstacles in his path to success, and only now does he realize how much he *despises it* -- though he'll be damned if he EVER admits to missing DJ Peck Neck (for now at least.) His kinder side -- although still faintly there -- has become a LOT harder for his crew to see over time, especially Thomas the Inventor, who receives the brunt of Conductor's unchecked cockiness and fury nowadays. Bow Kid's arrival in the Mafia Flows makes Conductor immediately pounce on the opportunity for something CLOSE to a rival in his life again.
For the "dungeon" scene in this AU: the Conductor had a mech built from and disguised within the remnants of his first ever train (which derailed and was damaged beyond repair,) and after some reminiscing, he ambushes Bow Kid and SMASHES the old passenger car. The battle starts from here. ...Unbeknownst to Conductor, Tom has his own ideas, so the mech has *a lot* of faults that Bow Kid is able to exploit.

Ye ik it's still not funni `musriel his theme real` but I was low-key getting a bit tired of putting so many "heavy" tracks one after another on the account. So here's the song that plays when you fight a scottish bird's mecha built from a goddamn steam train.
This is yet another one of the ideas in this AU where I had no ideas initially, then wound up shitposting my way into coming up with something needlessly-but-also-majorly awesome. Except this one actually winds up tying a bit into the "arc" I settled on for this part of the story! (A large string of these sorts of ideas also happen to be in the "Hotland" portion of this AU, come to think of it. Sexy robot rectangles and weeaboo lizards overcomplicate things ig lmaooooooo)
The track is *very* much inspired from Digga-Leg's Theme from Super Mario Galaxy 2; the Super Mario RPG flavor was all Kristian's idea, and he did a fantastic job on this piece. Was fantastic working with him, as always. Hope you guys enjoy! :) --Ashley

Meowjima takes Mad Mew Mew's role. They're a hidden boss in Nyakuza Hideout that you can find on the Pacifist and Neutral routes, and they want to "bring out your fighting spirit." Almost like Undyne in UT in a sense, though without a lot of the character depth to the shtick. They're admittedly kinda basic in this AU, but that's the same case in vanilla AHIT lmao.

Happy (belated) New Year y'all! And yup, first proper upload for this project in 2024 is yet *another* update to a pre-existing track lmaooooo. (I do have something *huge* ready to share with y'all, but it's waiting on a thumbnail.) ;)
Anyhow ye, I'd been feeling incredibly dissatisfied with this one for a long while, largely due to the V1 sticking TOO closely with the "Oompah Oompah" remix's structure and being *too slow* for a character like Meowjima. So I finally decided to actually do smth about it. A LOT of the bones from the V1 are still here, but the first section had the lead adjusted to add Oh It's You in here (in a roundabout way) and received some tampering to the backing, and the final section was completely overhauled.
I'm admittedly still a *wee bit* iffy on the first section, but all things considered, I think this turned out nicely and is an overall improvement. Hope you guys enjoy! :) --Ashley

Mustache Girl takes on a hybrid Asgore and Asriel role. Already feeling trapped and conflicted, her emotions are finally pushed over the edge when an incredibly large group of people -- though it feels more like the entire world with how suffocating the crowd is -- barge into her throne room and hurl insults her way, telling her to "get lost!" among other things ...and (almost) all in the name of Bow Kid, mirroring what happened years ago to a disturbing degree. Finally overwhelmed by all her painful thoughts and emotions bubbling back to the surface, she snaps and violently shatters a Time Piece in a fit of rage. And thus history is made to repeat itself once more. But this time, something's different.

BABY'S FIRST HOPES AND DREAMS REPLACEMENT FOR THE WIN :D
But ye, this is actually happening! Aside from using similar instruments (and a somewhat loose idea for the very beginning of my track,) this is *very* deliberately unfaithful to the typical H&D structure. Knew right away that I wanted to use Mustache Girl EX as the base for this track, and that sticking too rigidly to the structure of any other H&D would do a disservice to the feel I wanted to go for: that same kick-you-in-the-dick level of power from Mu EX, but with a LOT more of a melancholy vibe underlying all that fury. Plus, bit of a fun fact: adjustments have been made since obviously, but the first "complete" mixing draft of this track was finished on New Year's Eve 2023! (This kind of constant revising is why the His Theme track is *still* not done on my part btw lmaooooo.)
Also... I'll fully admit something here. For the first time on a track I've done, the drumbeat's backbone is comprised of loops I got when I bought Mixcraft 10 (especially with some of the things they were offering during the first week of its launch,) and the only supplemental VST I used was Abbey Road 80's Drummer for the left panned hi-hats. I know that EDM-type stuff similar to the actual Mu EX track is completely out of my wheelhouse, and I didn't want to royally screw up the drum pattern with this different metal-ish take on it, seeing as those are something I have a TON of trouble with. All things considered, drumline came out ok!
And ye on the whole, I'm incredibly happy with this track, and it's *easily* the most ambitious arrangement I've done to date (and the most difficult too in some aspects.) Hope you all enjoy! :) --Ashley

Bow has been a complete and utter thorn in his side this entire time, thwarting his every scheme along the way. Mafia Boss is going to dish out retaliation of the firiest caliber, and at long last, he can do it in TRUE MAFIA STYLE.

But ye I *finally* have another major track ready, and it's a whopper for sure! I had some *very* strange ideas for this one -- a blend of metal and jazz, aiming to sound *very* pissed off. The concept wound up being taken a slightly different direction by Kristian, but it really paid off, and it's still in the same spirit as the concepts and references I mentioned. It's one thing I really love about working with him (or anyone, really,) they usually know how to take my wacky ideas and total gibberish and make em work far better than I ever could.
So many cool things I could ramble on about here, but I'll go with one. The really high quality big band brass? That was 100% free, yo!! The SINE Player -- while admittedly kinda fucking annoying to use due to how BEEG the window is -- has a lot of damn good instruments available for it, the big band brass included!

Peregrine is this AU's interpretation of the Florist background character, and is in a "Jevil" type of role. After the freezing of Subcon so many years ago (long story short,) she wound up in the Twilight Realm. The magic and knowledge inherent to the area overwhelmed her vulnerable mind and drove her mad. Peregrine longed to escape and end her misery so badly, and to such an extent, the higher beings in the Twilight Realm eventually locked her in a more secluded section of it to prevent her from harming anyone else... herself included.

So... yeah. For the first time in a few years, a new character has been added to the AU! There are a couple more tracks related to both this new character and location in the works, but I couldn't wait and wanted to share this track in particular with y'all. :D
I did a lot of thinking in regards to certain tracks I want to have updated, but then it hit me. All this time, I've had Moonjumper as a sort of Spamton-like character. ...So *why in the actual FUCK* did I not have a Jevil-ish character to match. Obviously Peregrine's fairly different from Jevil (you can read the AU masterpost, which I have edited on AO3 to now include her section, for more specifics,) but that was my thought process. And HOLY SHIT BITTYBATTYBUNNY DID AN INCREDIBLE JOB ON PEREGRINE'S DESIGN!! They took my extensive ideas and really made them SHINE. It's part of why I really enjoy working with Bun whenever I can.
Anyhow, onto the track itself. This was a ton of fun to do! While a lot of the motifs didn't originate FOR Peregrine, the ones I chose were very specifically tied to her past in one way or another. However. You **might** have noticed that two of the motifs in particular were originally composed in *3/4 time.* Took quite a bit of trial and error to make them flow in 4/4 time the way I wanted em to, but it wound up working out in the end! Wound up taking a lot of inspiration from GSO's arrangement of TWR (https://soundcloud.com/gso-not-real/the-world-revolving-2024-arrangement) in regards to structure. Also made use of a few of my new instruments from Komplete 15 and Xpand!2.

So! Yet another new track slot has come to join the party, and this time it's the funni "everyone dies" route that gets it lmao.
But yeah this track fills the same sort of role as Enemy Retreating from Undertale Yellow, only starting to play in regular battles when you're getting closer to exhausting a given area's kill count. The other two motifs are fairly straightforward choices, but Alpha Bookstore Theme... I'm defo aware that's a bit of a curveball without context. I realized it would fit like an ironic glove since as currently used in a lot of tracks in the AU (including unreleased tracks/planned updates,) the motif has wound up being tied to a loss of control, in one way or another. Vanessa and Snatcher lost control of their fates, Peregrine lost control of that and her mind, Moonjumper lost control of their freedom... And in the Entropy route (also TimeWarp but shush,) Bow loses control of her sense of self, to put it lightly.
I also drew a LOT of stylization ideas from Adventure's End from Mario & Luigi Dream Team -- ties back to the BAATH and Megalovania, and helps to emphasize that you are choosing to make Bow bring this world down to its knees, to its end. (Also I suck ass at drumlines, so I referenced it heavily for the one I wound up transcribing lmao)

After a long endurance battle however, Bow Kid is finally able to break through her facade. Mu shouldn't need to feel like she *has* to go through with this, Bow says. Everyone who shouted at Mu starts to feel increasingly guilty as Bow breaks through further, and start apologizing en masse (even the Mafia!) It's all too much for Mu, but now in a different way. For the first time in a *long* time, she finally feels like she's allowed to be vulnerable again.

FINALLY. AFTER A YEAR AND A HALF OF BEING STUCK IN CREATIVE LIMBO BECAUSE OF MY PERFECTIONIST ASS, THE HIS THEME REPLACEMENT IS REEEEEEEAL. :D
But uhhhhhh ye, consider this as a bit of an early Christmas present for you guys. As is now likely very obvious, I wanted to go with a Doctor Who inspiration for the His Theme ever since the beginning. This track went through a ton of turmoil behind the scenes. From Kristian having carpal tunnel and needing to stop, from me outright scrapping elements I added to this *multiple* times, and even MULTIPLE key changes...! Just yeah, this was a pain to finalize in the way I wanted, due to me *desperately* wanting to get this right the first time and avoid another BE IN THE GAME.

The ever-agitated Mafia Boss takes on a hybrid Flowey and Mad Dummy role. He already wasn't a pleasant guy before (being mashed into mush and stuck in a jar certainly didn't help,) but ever since Mustache Girl took control, his anger has been off the charts! Above all else, he wants to get his body back and have his revenge on the red-hooded brat, and he sees Bow as the *perfect ticket* to grabbing the Time Pieces unhindered. He is encountered several times throughout the story, even beyond Subcon Forest, with this meeting in the Nyakuza Hideout being the penultimate one.

Ok but fr tho, I finally gave this track a couple more much-needed tweaks. Cause *christ on a fuckin BIKE* the old version of this is showing its age, and not in a good way, needless to say. I had a VERY monetarily fortunate December (to make a long story short,) so along with finally getting ProjectSAM Swing + Swing More legally with no strings attached... I also got Diamond Jazz Orchestra from Native Instruments!! Defo looking forward to using em more in the future. As for here though, I mainly just added the saxophones from Diamond Jazz to supplement some backing stuff, and swapped the ending piano instrument with SGM Honkey-tonk. (And tightened up the mix a wee bit, but that's neither here nor there lol.)
Also you may notice that the ending piano motif is now completely different. Well, that's because -- shock of all shocks -- I've grown dissatisfied with the current iteration of Moonjumper's tracks and plan to have them updated again!! Yayyyyyyyyy. :')
But anyway, the old ending piano motif is one of the decisions I made that I finally realized sucks eggs in the context of being part of the original Dummy! track. So uhhh ye I slightly adjusted the ending section of Mafia Boss' Grand Finale and decided to use THAT for the ending piano here instead. A lot happier with how this mix turned out in a lot of ways, and I hope y'all enjoy!! :3 --Ashley
(P.S. Lil sidenote, but I'm genuinely kinda *shocked* at how well the main section of the track holds up compositionally. Cause the original version of "How Rude!" was DEFINITELY a case of me just fucking around and happening to stumble across something good, not even using a proper key guide like I tend to nowadays.)

Rather than have a character bio in this section, I want to discuss the scenario this track gets used for. During the Entropy route, the killing spree you embark on is causing the already fragile timeline to begin outright collapsing. The timeline's unravelling is happening in such an extreme way, there’s enough scrap data within reach for the Conductor’s owls to extract from outside of time itself. So Conductor has his owls use said data to "reconstruct" certain characters that you've battled before (not just on this route,) and spread them all across the Mafia Flows to stall "Bow" for as long as possible. ...But since the data *is* just scraps, the process isn't perfect. And due to these imperfections, there are certain quirks that aren’t present in the original fights that (even moreso than the actual power boost) contribute to these rematches being a real pain to take down.

And to complete the "normal" battle theme quadrilogy, we now have an actual replacement for Stronger Monsters! This was always the plan for where the track would get put, and why it's so low down on the OST list. I've admittedly been very "utilitarian" with a lot of the stuff I've put into this AU; I don't wanna add something like this or (just for example) Megalo Strike Back to the OST roster if it doesn't serve some form of purpose. (See: Collapsing Timelines + the Peregrine tracks.)

The Twilight Bell is a new location for the AU, not taking the place of anything pre-existent from Undertale or Deltarune! An optional area, where it's apparent that the Nomads and Goats know *way* more than they let on, especially in regards to Bow Kid and what's controlling her. This would be where a theoretical player would find out about the broken Time Piece and how it latched on to Bow, as well as a lot of things about Bow's species. It's also where, in a deep isolated section of this already isolated place, you'll find Peregrine.
Any normal encounters in this area would pull a Deltarune and flee the second the “player” tries to fight, so it’d be impossible to gain extra EXP here on an Entropy run.

Upon first encountering Bow, the Empress doesn't have anything clever to say. No intimidation, not even a *facial expression.* She just immediately and FEROCIOUSLY begins chasing Bow until eventually losing her. ...And unforunately this won't be the ONLY chase Bow has to endure.

Since I commissioned Shade for the BTERTD/BAATH, maybe I should approach him again for this batch." So that's exactly what I did, and he knocked everything out of the park once again!

As Bow is close to escaping the Metro and heading to the Mafia Flows, the Empress finally makes a direct move on her. After a speech about her hurt that (to Bow) is rather cryptic, the Empress pounces and the battle begins.

Finally, a version of the "Undyne" track (sorta) that DOESN'T suck ass!! (It's now rolled in with the "NGAHHH!!!" slot as well, hence its placement in the OST.)
Anyhow uhhhh ye not long after I originally uploaded "Beware of Cat" last year, I became insanely unhappy with it and was QUICK to decanonize it. The Empress having a "forboding" track like that for her *first* track just... straight up didn't make sense, given how things have tracked with her in this AU. Really glad I had it redone, and can now say I have something for this slot that I'm happy with. :)
This iteration of the track deliberately drew inspiration from Bowser's theme in Mario & Luigi Dream Team (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0f-buIrr_RM) cause fUCK I LOVE THE DREAM TEAM OST BAYBEEEEEE, and also cause it rly fits this AU's Empress. Hope y'all enjoy! :3 --Ashley

Moonjumper replaces Gaster. After escaping the Horizon, they're just barely holding on to their existence. Glitchy as anything, their form phasing in and out of view, distorted speech... the works. MJ desires to finally get a proper foothold in this world once more, but needs Bow Kid’s help... help that they'll never get on the Pacifist and Neutral routes, as it requires Bow to do things that she'd normally never do. But as much of a fool's errand as it is, Moonjumper fights Bow on those two routes anyway when she encounters them at the broken giant hourglass. You aren't really able to lose to them, as they heal you right when you would be about to die, but hey! No pain, no [[game]], am I right? ...If nothing else, it gives time for em to get some cryptically cynical thoughts off their chest. Having your attempts at power thwarted so royally and losing control over the very concept of your existence... kinda does that to a person.
After the fight however, Moonjumper says a few more things that (though *very* dickish) SEEM to indicate the tiniest amount of hope, then just fades away without a trace, their grasp on existence being weakened just enough for it to slip completely... for a while at any rate. =)

So! As I alluded to in the "How Rude!" update's description, the process of updating (and adding more to) the Moonjumper tracks has officially begun. Still have to decide what I wanna do with the others, but I figured I'd start with the obvious two tracks that should get the treatment first: "YOU'RE NOT SUPPOSED TO" and "BE IN THE GAME" respectively!! And as much as I liked Kristian's original version of "BE IN THE GAME" especially, they just. No longer fit the AU as it currently stands. Complete overhauls from the bottom up have been in order for well over a year now.
Along with the new Moonside lead being transcribed from it (dunno why *I* never thought to just use "Oh It's You" itself,) the stylization of YNST's update is actually based on an unreleased cover of the V1 made by Saur (@saurdino420.) She's an awesome musician, and y'all should definitely check out her work.

Moonjumper replaces Gaster.
In the Pacifist and Neutral routes, you have to take something significant of MJ's that still lingers in the mortal realm (a monocle perhaps?) to a hidden steelworks area in Mu's castle, where (among other things) they made some of the gold Mu statues that you see in AHIT canon. There, MJ double-crosses you by possessing/controlling one of the statues and vowing that you won't leave the room... alive. No matter the tiny amount of regret they may have, they're still a rat bastard in the ways that count.

In the TimeWarp route, after Hat Kid's (well) TimeWarp attack creates a schism in the space-time continuum, Moonjumper is FINALLY able to properly break through back into reality... by wrapping their strings around Mustache Girl's soul and taking control, becoming Moonstache EX in the process. I mean, come on! You REALLY thought them selling you the ThornCrown was *just* to help Bow to escape their binds? Ain't ya ever heard of a good ol fashioned double-cross!?

A *big* thanks goes to Shade (@hi-im-shade) for providing the drumless render of Killing Two Birds that I sampled and edited here. Was defo a big ask of me, considering it was easily over two years since I'd originally commissioned it, and his help was greatly appreciated! Really wanted to more "authentically" splice the PoN replacement if I were to ever redo this track, and now I'm proud to say that I've accomplished that here. In addition to implementing that, I've done the same lead and hits motif updates as YNST's redo... AND put in the new "Freedom" motif to boot, among other things. This is easily *the* most radically different a version of BE IN THE GAME has been from past ones, but defo the most satisfying upgrade so far.
I'd be remiss if I didn't also mention a couple of the BIG SHOTs that inspired the direction I went with here, BITE OF '87? by itsaleccio (https://soundcloud.com/aleccio6/bite-of-87-v2) and SOME HELP by R.V Pine (https://soundcloud.com/feelings-or-well-evelyn/some-help-rv-pine.) Vanessa takes the role of Glyde. In the Entropy and TimeWarp routes, she decides to go on a walk to clear her mind... only to see the trail of destruction you've left in your wake, and the lives you've already ruined (Snatcher especially on the TimeWarp route.) Just your luck that you ran into her then, huh! =)
Determined to put a stop to you, or stall so people can get away from you if nothing else, Vanessa finally feels compelled to engage in a fight. It will be a gruelling endurance battle, with her hurling some of the strongest attacks you would face on either of the two routes this battle happens on.

Ok but in all seriousness though! I've had at least the TimeWarp route's version of this idea down for quite some time, but I recently realized that I should probably expand it some more (even if only a little.) So although the OST placement of this reflects its chronology in the Entropy route, this Vanessa battle now happens in both Entropy and TimeWarp routes! You can read the main AU write-up for more details on the former, and the dedicated TimeWarp document for the latter.
As for the song itself: HOLY SHIT IT TURNED OUT RLY NICELY ON BOTH FRONTS!! A lot of you long-time fans of mine may have noticed that I actually lifted the title wholesale from one of my old Nomadic Prince AU tracks. And yeah fun fact, my original plan was to overhaul that old track. But then I realized "Wait... this track sucks ass. Especially for this new context the Time's End AU would be providing." So I pondered even further, until it struck me: **I HAVE MONEY GODDAMN IT!!!**
I've always wanted to commission Jayze, and since I was in a financially lucky spot in December '24, I finally seized upon that opportunity. Suggested his older IN A PICKLE track (https://soundcloud.com/jjaym15/in-a-pickle) as a basis to draw from, and he really delivered - and then some! He's a fantastic musician that was a pleasure to do business with. And Raven's art... DAMN IT TURNED OUT SO WELL! Glad I got to work with her on this as well.

The Conductor fills Mettaton's shoes in this world. He may be the sole greatest influencer in the bird entertainment now (thanks to him ousting Grooves during the initial "Time's End" fiasco) but... he's *incredibly* bored and agitated. There are no obstacles in his path to success, and only now does he realize how much he *despises it* -- though he'll be damned if he EVER admits to missing DJ Peck Neck (for now at least.) His kinder side -- although still faintly there -- has become a LOT harder for his crew to see over time, especially Thomas the Inventor, who receives the brunt of Conductor's unchecked cockiness and fury nowadays. Bow Kid's arrival in the Mafia Flows makes Conductor immediately pounce on the opportunity for something CLOSE to a rival in his life again.
