Techno and Deep Techno Mix

Following on from the well-received Coast 2 Coast EP is this, the Keep on Wankin EP, which features classics tracks from Luminodisco and Margot as remixed by Sex Tags Mania label boss DJ Fettburger & DJ Grillo Wiener and Fango respectively. 

“Finding the right remixer for the right track, it's a dirty, nerdy job,” says horny label boss Marco, but he’s picked just the right names again here to really maximize the radicalness of the original tracks. 

First up is Luminodisco’s modern classic ‘Diavolo Di Un Disco’, which has been a feature in the sets of many disco dudes since its release last year. Given the sonic freakiness and unique sense of invention about everything DJ Fettburger does,  he, along with frequent collaborator DJ Grillo Wiener, makes the perfect remix pairing. 

The Scandinavian duo decides to lay in tons of organic, rough claps, jangling percussive elements and bendy basslines and the whole thing is beautifully ramshackle and loose for its nine-minute duration. All sorts of sci-fi sounds fly in and out of the mix, synths grow loud and angry before sinking back into the busy arrangement and the whole thing never settles still even for a single second. 

Next up is ‘Liuff Settanta’, a track that has become one of Sven Vath’s secret weapons in recent times and in original form came from the soon to be much celebrated electronic duo Margot.
 Their track gets remixed by Fango, who has so far provided a couple of killer EPs for Degustibus Music and has marked himself out as a fine talent. His version of the track is a raw drum work out that brings plenty of energy to the dancefloor as it builds and builds into an ever-larger techno stomper.

Two more killer remixes from Hell Yeah that breath new life into the already excellent originals.

On the A-side Rødhåd delivers an epic 10 minute interpretation of the first single ‘Perplexed’, while Robert Hood delivers a second, more minimalistic take on “Dirtro II” for the flip.

The A- side ‘I Know Where I’ve Been’, is a deep rolling techno machine that uses a constant building percussion loop that eventually explodes into some serious funky signature Moudaber techno! ‘Bittersweet’ is a techno belter that uses a hypnotic synth rhythm that will take the listener into another world. The repetitive claps induce a flurry of energy and excitement whilst supported by the crisp highs.

Dutch legend and Wolfskuil inner circle member Benny Rodrigues returns to the label for a fresh twelve. In the DJ booth he has no equal and established himself as one of the world’s premier selectors. Besides his ominous DJ skills, Benny has been making waves in the studio the last couple of years as well. Wether it be as ROD or under his own name, respected imprints worldwide have embraced and released his productions with eagerness. Klockworks, CLR, Drumcode and Desolat are just a few of the labels he can call home now.

Wolfskuil wouldn’t be Wolfskuil if we didn’t pick the ‘odd one’ of the litter. The Choice Is Mine might be the most freaked out & modulated excersize Benny has yet to unleash upon the world. No 4 bars in this mental trip are the same, ever evolving around a sequence that brings old 90’s warehouse techno to mind. 

A peaktime monster like this deserves a royal rework. Berghain resident, Dystopian head honcho and man of the moment Rødhåd happily agreed to give his own and unique vision on the original. The result is stunning, psychedelic and with a little unexpected surprise in the final part of his remix and compliments the original in a perfect. Another Gem in our catalogue, we hope you will enjoy this as much as we do!

For the next Lost release Leftwing & Kody have drafted in Max Chapman. Only three years ago Max was tipped by Pete Tong as one to watch.  

For LR 006 we have a 5 track EP. Jackin' leads the way with it's deep hooks and solid vocal samples. This time on a remix tip is another Lost brother PAWSA who adds his signature instrumentation. On a more high tempo synth groove with a trippy rolling bassline Max cleverly masters 'Holding On.'  Label bosses Leftwing and Kody add a more melodic spaced out vibe when they join in on remix duties with their trademark arrangement. 

To wrap this up 'Too Late' speeds things up a notch with a lively female vocal building on a more techy sound throughout

Jackin' - Max Chapman - PAWSA Remix - Out Now

Belgian duo GoldFFinch continue Turbo’s latest series with three prime cuts of springy warehouse thumpers.

Four years into their production career, these two young Brussels-based producers have already put out a dozen releases, and in the process gained the support of the likes of Loco Dice, Phil Kieran, Sinden, Djedjotronic, Mary Anne Hobbs, Claude Von Stroke, and Jackmaster. Their sound has remained consistent while slowly evolving, shifting deeper into the realm of pure techno, achieving terrific impact through sparse elements, increasingly honing their talent at sculpting each sound. 

There’s a consistent feeling on all three tracks that nods to the notion of ‘warehouse.’ You can hear a spectral glimmer of rave throughout. The winding, hypnotic synths on Stronghold evoke, or rather, produce trance, the arpeggio and brief vocal ‘WOO’ sample on Bis Repetita are distilled tropes of an era. The palette on Europa goes even deeper into the shadows, a proper trip-out, heads down, shoegaze tool, that finds it’s centre in the ominous bassy pad that thunders in to the mix, vaguely recalling jungle. And all the tracks are enmeshed in tightly constructed, blacklight-sensitive beats that sounds distinctly modern… all told, they present a very refined and subtly original version of good old techno.

Given the extremely positive support we've gotten for the Motor City Drum Ensemble DJ-Kicks, we knew we'd have to do something really special for a remix package for the album's exclusive track, L.O.V.E. We're pretty sure you'll agree that it would be hard to top a remix line-up like this! As one of the most notable young Detroit musicians of his generation, Kyle Hall was a perfect choice to take on MCDE's tune. The L.O.V.E. EP will be out on vinyl, and digitally exclusively via Juno on August 8th (Sept 13th for the vinyl in the US), with a full digital release to follow. Check out the full tracklist below.

Prime Numbers are back with E11, the latest in our highly lauded signature E.P series.

First up is a heavyweight collaboration between Mr Scruff & Kaidi Tatham, who provide a smouldering jazz-house production with Kaidi leading the way on 
keys and flute accompanying a warm & chunky bottom-heavy groove. 

M.C.D.E drops a killer raw cut witha heavily smashed jackin’ disco workout comparable to a fine Cajual dub or early Striclty Rhyhtm release. The track oozes 
soul and is unpretentiously aimed at the dancefloor. Once again Danilo Plessow proves less is more. 

Andres completes the line up with a cheeky blend of some classic ingredients. Sounding like a track from his early releases, “Jack City” has all the essential 
hallmarks of the Andres sound with an excellently simple but purely effective fusion of house and hiphop ethics.
