Twayn wrote ‘Spine’ in November 2024 and first played it live opening for Jools Holland in Newcastle the next month. The applause you can hear in the intro is from that first live performance. The song is about that messy moment of realising a situationship isn’t right, with guilt and confusion at its core. The girls spent a week at Blank Studios with Josh Ingledew shaping it into the lead single for their upcoming EP, Sadness Is My Sanctuary. The duo have been gigging non-stop, building hype, and have just announced they will be supporting Jools Holland on his Winter Tour later this year. They will be playing in Bristol, Manchester, Cardiff (their first arena) and the prolific Royal Albert Hall in London.
