Niconé is back on Stil vor Talent with his very much loved project that has already brought us an absolute scorcher on Stil vor Talent before. Again he features the wonderful vocal of Narra on this hypnotically happy percussive house affair "Caje". The original track grooves on some free swinging percussions and a softly moving house loop making this a very subtle killer for any afterhour. While Narra's vocals carry the track as light as a feather it is after the breakdown that things get really musical! For the remixes Stil vor Talent has aligned a high-quality and diverse array of current top-notch producers. Things go dark, minimal and very technological with Pan-Pot's take on "Caje" that still keeps a very soulful element in its approach. Then, Berlin's coolest kid on the block Adam Port knows that every track gets better with a lot of claps–and he sure is right in his interpretation of "Caje". This is one of these tracks that sucks the listener in so deep that there is simply no escape: repetitive yet constantly changing and constantly grooving while remaining very pure! For his very soulful groove Dirty Doering adds some wonderfully melodic synths and guitars to his track that turn "Caje" into an even more summery

Jetlag is a Brussels based duo combining deep, progressive house and UK Garage. Not only are they known for their unique sound but also their dj sets with live violin have a strong reputation. Dali came out as a free download and topped off the 200.000 plays on their SoundCloud page in only one year time. Atmosphere Records decided it was time for Jetlag to come out with their first Original EP. They teamed up with Stereoclip who through his music makes us discover a world of his own.

The original Dali has that voice that stands out. It will work on the dance floors as good as for home listening. The Dali remix contains Stereoclip's trademark with the slow tempo build up, he takes us on a journey through his musical universe. Last but not least Jetlag ends the EP with 'Something About You'. The marimba riff, the lyrics and the piano set the vibe, touching emotions that every listener can quickly connect to.

Some times the music just magically comes out, and that is the case here with "Syria" by new Sol*Selectas artist Unders from Amsterdam. After several successful tunes above the 120 BPM mark on labels like Sincopat and Groove On, "Syria" was Unders' first attempt at slower grooves, and an accidental experiment that just "fell into place, and was automatic magic". Syria's current political unrest is all over the news and social media, and the story being painted is difficult to watch. Driven to create a song which goes against all the negative publicity, Unders says "between all the negativity, the more i looked into the situation, the country, its people and its culture, the more this track reminded me of so much beauty the media doesn’t portray." The song itself a slow minimal trip with chopped up guitar licks, a gorgeous flute sample that takes the listener to far off desert lands, and features the vocals of Veerle.  Satori is yet another up and coming producer from the Netherlands, gaining instant recognition sharing the stage and studio with Acid Pauli, and producing incredible tunes utilizing live instruments played by himself, and tastefully incorporating these with electronic elements. His remix preserves the original message of "Syria" lowering the BPM to an even more hypnotic 104 BPMs. Satori adds middle eastern strings and chords, swapping out the original vocal for a more Saharan inspired call, and even plays delicately with some acid sounds furthering the listeners journey.  
Both songs are meant to invoke peaceful images of Syria, and conjure up positive intention on the dance floor. Sol*Selectas is very excited to present the debut song "Syria" from Unders, and the amazing remix by Satori,  two artists from the Netherlands you would do well to keep your eyes and ears open to in 2016.

Over Christmas 2014 I needed a break from recording
my album, searching online for a song I recalled from
my youth, I fell into a rabbit hole of thousands of
YouTube playlists and posts, rediscovering the songs
my friends and I would gather and listen to as
13 & 14 yr olds every Saturday in East Berlin on Radio DT64
(now Berlin's Radio Fritz).

I stumbled back to the future, collecting over 5000 songs
on YouTube, learning for the first time the artists behind
the songs we heard almost 25 years ago.

The forthcoming trilogy is the result of 18 month
of building edits from YouTube recordings and stitching
them together off-line. I could not include every song,
nor indeed even the entire tracks from this small period
until 1993, so this is my personal history of electronic
music arriving in Berlin.

This trilogy will not be sold, it was a labor of love,
born of nostalgia and made for sharing.

Sol Selectas run by Sabo welcomes back Unders who has been a prominent feature in the label's back catalogue. Unders has also contributed to other imprints including Kindisch, Under Your Skin, Sincopat and Katermukke along with his own Happy Camper Records.

Unders, is a producer from Holland, who had a break through song called “Syria” on Sol Selectas three years ago, and is a huge fan of the band Morphine, so he created this dance floor remix of their track “The Other Side” for his DJ sets.

With the intention of keeping the original Morphine legacy alive along with the spirit of deceased lead singer Mark Sandman, the original members of the band have agreed to officially release this incredible remix, as every time Unders played it the reaction was incredible.

Already rated by Mixmag as one of the hottest tracks of the Summer in 2017, even though it had never even been released, this special remix of an American classic will surely take its listeners on a journey to “The Other Side”, where “life is better”.

Morphine was an Alternative Rock group from Boston which formed in 1989. Morphine’s unique sound combined blues and jazz elements with more traditional rock arrangements, and the lead singer Mark Sandman had a distinctively deep and laid-back tone. After five successful albums in the early '90s they disbanded after Mark Sandman tragically died on stage of a heart attack. The founding members reformed into the band Vapors of Morphine, maintaining much of the original style and sound.

With a slow, smouldering sound consisting of saxophones, soft percussion, two finger bass and beatnik-style poetry lyrics, the bands bluesy sound has been captured fully in Unders stunning rework.

The lyrics of the track talk of “crossing over to the other side” and this version pays homage to the original and celebrates the living achievements of Mark Sandman before he sadly passed away.

Created by Helia Jamali, the Artwork was influenced by the song lyrics, and is intended to be a visually stimulating journey to an unknown but familiar place “with the preacher's wife”.
