Who are we?
"XO Mashups" began as a fun side project during the COVID outbreak in early 2020 in our living room. It started out by trying out several songs together for fun on GarageBand before we realized how entertaining it would be to give it a professional try. After almost 100 videos and mashups, here we are!

STTAP (Set the Tunes and Play) is the artistic project of Ahmed Mokhtar, an Egyptian Musical Artist, DJ, Producer and creative technologist, crafting layered melodic worlds where human emotion meets digital imagination.

With a deep-rooted passion for sound since the early 2000s, Ahmed began creating layered DJ edits using stems before they became standard, later studying music theory and guitar to refine his craft. Over the years, he expanded his creative exploration into the video music industry, producing trailers and short films, which honed his ear for precise music timing and taught him the art of VFX layering and dynamic scheme building based on stems—skills that now deeply inform his structured yet emotive approach to music production.

Today, under STTAP, he writes, produces, and engineers his music entirely, focusing on clean, timeless compositions built on warm hooks and emotive synth atmospheres.

STTAP’s releases are not tied to a single vocal identity but are immersive, hybrid compositions blending electronic beats, dreamy melodies, abstract vocals, and precise grooves, creating soundscapes that invite listeners to get lost while staying connected to the pulse of the track.

This is music for those who believe in setting the tone and playing, for those who want to feel the silent pulse within every layered note.
