At the movies - is my way out. Sitting alone in company watching earth from above.

It feels like diving into a parallel existence, waiting for the countdown to begin, prepairing for liftoff.

Then, finally, the lights go out..

The original material is a bit of mystery to me - Cecelia5, FL Studio, PaulXStretch, Reason, Thor, Fracture. To this I added Collision and Massive X & Arturia Fragments. I created this track after organizing the raw material for a future album. This was the second track I completed. I completed the first track yesterday for this week’s Disquiet Junto. 

This original version of "Friction And Fluoride" was submitted as part of Naviar Haiku 575, Even Though Afar.

Kagami Shikō was a Japanese poet, considered one of the ten outstanding disciples (Shōmon jittetsu 蕉門十哲) of Matsuo Bashō. He was in turn the master of the famous poetess Fukuda Chiyo-ni.

Originally from the present-day Gifu Prefecture, Kagami Shikō became a monk at Daichi-ji Temple, and in 1690 he became a pupil of Bashō, later accompanying him on some of his journeys and recording his last will in 1694.

After Basho's death, he kept travelling around Japan, writing several essays on haiku and collections of writings until his death in 1731.

Friction And Fluoride (naviarhaiku575)

This is composed solely of musical recordings of variable quality that I made during a tour of southern Spain in 2023;  a National Day event in the square in Madrid, a religious parade through the streets of in Granada, a Flamenco show in Seville and the organ (and ambience) of the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona. I made a rough assembly last year, disliked it and left it. I’ve warmed to it, a bit – it’s now framed by the flamenco school recorded in Seville. All have been slightly treated/enhanced to varying degrees during the mixing process.

You must see live flamenco before you die.
