For this episode Sabine Tress returns to the podcast, from her studio in Cologne, Germany, to discuss the work in her solo show Space Oddities.
This conversation acts mostly as a virtual tour of Sabine’s exhibition. Detailing the relationships between the actual exhibition space, the paintings, the viewer, and the painter herself. Somehow I make my way into the mix as well. 

I did not know this interview would journey in the direction it did, it wasn’t until editing did I realized how these states were apparent. 

This recording creates a virtual venue where the show takes place for those who can’t make it to the brick and mortar space, and yet helps make it a show not to miss in person.

This interview is with Bloomington, Indiana artist, Peter Shear. I asked about the beginnings of becoming an artist, and Shear talked about it as being a kind of attraction to it, and that can be what makes one an artist. I asked about education and a bit of the response I got was about "self-educating" without shortcuts, and much more. One of my direct questions was: "What is your favorite thing about the internet? A snippet of Shear's answer was: "It's where our..." On creative block? Answer: "It doesn't last..." Listen in for more! Revisited: Brooke Mullins Doherty and Phillip J. Mellen in Conversation

Provisional painting? Noticed by Rafael Rubinstein in 2009? After further investigation, dubbed “the New Casualists” by Sharon Butler?

This “Provisional Painting,” and the way it has been executed, has been the subject of several articles recently circling the internet. This sensibility is said to produce works that are “dashed-off” and has been pointed to as “unfinished” and also that these works are an “utter failure.” So, what is it anyway? Why the buzz if it’s results are so “self-canceling?”
