Luke Vibert (@luke-vibert) is a British electronic musician and producer, also known for his work under several aliases such as Plug and Wagon Christ. Raised in Cornwall, Vibert began releasing projects in the 1990s across varied genres, including techno, drum and bass, and trip-hop. He is a true veteran of his craft, showing us what mixing records is all about. Check out this masterclass when he played our Gain by Gorillas stage during DGTL Amsterdam 2022.

Esa delivers an hour of magnetic material for mix number 33 of the Junction 2 series. 

Merging influences from his South African roots with inspiration from his global travels, Esa uses this to sculpt his unique sound. With notable releases on labels like Permanent Vacation and Brownswood, he also runs his own highly touted imprint, Rememory Music.  Charismatic, eclectic and eccentric are just some of the ways to describe this odyssey of exploration which Esa invites us on as he drifts through a range of genres in this free-flowing mix.

Esa will be joining Dixon, Maribou State DJ, Chaos In The CBD, Eclair Fifi and Effy at The Observatory stage, hosted by Love Unlimited, on Saturday 18th June at Junction 2 Festival.

Freedom to Create is our six-part talk show broadcasting from Berlin-based radio station Refuge Worldwide.

The bi-monthly episodes explore themes of identity, migration and music creation through hour-long interviews curated and moderated by Chloe Lula.

On the third episode of Freedom to Create, Chloe Lula interviews Ukrainian-American artist Alinka. The producer and DJ—who is currently living in Berlin—immigrated to the US in the late ‘80s with her family, who lived as Jewish refugees in Chicago. Alinka eventually became a resident at Smartbar and began collaborating with Hercules and Love Affair’s Shaun J Wright, with whom she started the Twirl parties and label. Alinka has released on labels like Rekids, Crosstown Rebels, Need Want, Permanent Vacation, Harry Romero’s Bambossa Records and her newly launched second imprint Fantasy Life. She’s a regular DJ at Berghain. She and Chloe discuss the war in Ukraine, her experience growing up far afield from her roots and the healing power of music in times of personal and collective crisis.
