"Soliloquy of the Unnamed" is a collection of four miniatures for voice and violin in response to Leo Tolstoy’s novella, The Kreutzer Sonata.

"The Guarded Wound"
If it 
Were lighter touch 
Than petal of flower resting 
On grass, oh still too heavy it were, 
Too heavy!

"Trapped"
Well and
If day on day
Follows, and weary year
On year. . and ever days and years. .
Well?

"November Night"
Listen. . 
With faint dry sound, 
Like steps of passing ghosts, 
The leaves, frost-crisp'd, break from the trees 
And fall.

"Triad"
These be
Three silent things:
The falling snow. . the hour
Before the dawn. . the mouth of one
Just dead.
