Quick and fun check on my progress since the first time I've ever felt extremely contented with my final mix, thinking it was the best thing I've ever produced. 
Now after years of practice and frustrated persistence I felt the need to evaluate my progress and check how far I've come.

Didn't bother to re-record the 2nd clip's intro again, lol.

Stuff kept constant throughout two mixes:
-All recorded with freeware VSTS for the guitars. No actual amp was used.
-Bass done with Trillian and other freeware VSTS.
-Drums from Superior Drumer 2.0
-Distorted guitar DI tracks

The Arrangement was borne out of a personal desire to explore the genre of Metal music. I was very interested to see if I could somehow fuse my "jazz/jazz fusion" influences with the foundations of a metal song.

It's been 6 years since the "original" cover I did before and I still haven't really done anything for my solo releases or any other form of solo work to be honest, hopefully it turns around in 2020 (which is still entirely up to me in the end it's only myself holding me back afterall) 

I did work on a video for this with some friends but for similar reasons I could never bring myself to release the 1st draft or get to re-recording the shots.

Despite growing up listening to heavier music, this is my first time mixing something heavy! Had a great time re-amping the DI tones with some free amps (paired with some OwnHammer IRs). Hope everyone likes it!
