Premiere: Voyeur 'Rain Away'

More exquisite heat from one of the most consistent producers out there. Mihai Popoviciu has been racking up an enviable discography in the past few years, as releases on Highgrade, Hudd Trax, Bondage Music and Popcorn Records testify. 

This, his latest outing on home-from-home Poker Flat, suggests we may yet have the best to come. 'Time' is a low-slung slice of electronic funk, featuring a dirty bass line and lazy, growling synth skirmishes. The feeling is tech-y, underground and analog - a perfect vibe for the Romanian's killer grooves. 

'Stay' drops a gear and cruises into even deeper territory. The melodies entwine to build a lush deep house groove, punctuated by a wonky lead and punchy, insistent drums. Popoviciu manages to hold plenty back, before unleashing a fierce drop.

'Paper Box' maintains the stripped-down sound design, leaving plenty of space for Popoviciu's signature synth squiggles, stabs and fragments of melody. The result is a slick, grooving piece of futurist dance music. 

Beatport customers also get an exclusive additional track- the highly charged, deeply narcotic 'Turn'. Dropped at the right moment, this is going to destroy a few late night parties like nothing else.

Kerri Chandler’s Madhouse Records returns this June with a three-track EP from Nacho Marco, entitled ‘You Got To Know’.

Valencia’s Nacho Marco has been involved in electronic music since the tail end of the last decade, dropping material via the likes of Freerange, Plastic City, Ovum and of course his own Loudeast Records. Here we see Nacho join the Madhouse Records roster following output of late from
established and rising house producers such as Tony Lionni and Voyeur.

Opening up the single is title track ‘You Got To Know’, a rugged drum-led cut fuelled by loose, organic percussion, bumpy sub-bass tones and sweeping atmospherics. In true Madhouse fashion the cut embraces a retro house feel with diva vocals, stabbing chords and rising pads to kick things off brilliantly.

Following is ‘Time’, which takes on a contrasting approach, pulling back on the percussive elements and bringing jazzy Rhodes, bright synths, dubbed-out vocals and elongated strings into the mix to create a stunning early-hours composition. The package is then rounded off with ‘Middays’, a fitting title for the closing cut with its smooth daytime vibe, here we see Nacho blend evolving chord progressions, processed vocal snippets and chuggy low-end bass into a classic deep house formation, perfectly fitting for the impending summer days.

"Keep On Moving" dives deep into garage territory and offers an addictive percussive trip with tons of mood changes, vocals, synths and an overall feel good piano vibe.

This duo proves once again that they will most likely stay warm for a very long time!

The song builds up with vibe synth stabs and horns that create a perfect atmosphere for the sweet vocals while a groovy bassline and housy drums add the perfect dance factor to the whole thing, all constructed with finesse and great taste.
