Aikira was formed in 2008 by Fango and Kote, who were already members of an emerging hardcore band, Vibratacore, respectively as lead guitarist and drummer. They developed that sound through more dilated and oniric yet equally aggressive instrumental jams. Soon Andrea (first as bass player then as guitarist) joined the project, amplifying the sound spectrum of Aikira through more complex and evocative arrangements. Finally, with the entry of Remo Filippini (bass guitar) the band's line-up was eventually completed.
The result is an unconventional mixture, close to some post-rock dynamics, full of psychedelic experiments but always ready to explode in blazes of devastating power. In the second half of 2012 the band started touring live with powerful and emotional performances receveing great feedback from the audience.
Their first album was released in the summer of 2014 for Udedi-Audiozero. In the second half of the same year, Simone Scarazza replaced Remo at the bass guitar and the band's live performances had intensified to promote the record. In 2016 Simone left the band and was temporarly replaced by Giuseppe Pirozzi in live shows and in the sessions of the new album Light Cut, recorded at the end of June 2017. During the work of this new album, Lorenzo DC officially joined the band as bass player.
