Robert Cosmic is an DJ and producer from Spain. He has released mainly electro music on labels around the world like Shameless Toady, Subsonic Device, Battery Park Studios, and Debonaire Records. In 2010 he founded Mars Frequency Records where he publishes his own creations and publishes different artists known within the Spanish and international Electro scene.

1. Which artists has influenced you the most?

I don't feel influenced by a specific artist, I have always listened to many types of music and many different artists and groups, each one influences me. But if I had to mention one, it would be Liam Howlett, the way he makes his electronic melodies, the sounds, the changes, the voices, the broken rhythms, the fusion of electric guitars with electronic music, the aggressiveness of the sound...

2. What new projects/releases with your participation are expected in the near future?

I'm really happy with my participation in the latest vinyl reference of the label "Gente Seria Viste Chándal" that just came out, my song "Siempre Chándal" has become a kind of anthem for Spanish speakers. As always, I'm still preparing music for my label (Mars Frequency Records) that will be out in a very short time, with a harder electro than what I usually do. I'm also very excited preparing synthwave and synthpop songs, but that will take a bit longer.

3. Which artists/labels are more relevant to you now?

Dark Vektor is one of the most relevant figures throughout my life, on a personal and musical level. In my opinion, if we talk about electro in Spain, he is the main figure and the creator of a true community here in Spain his music always amazes me. On the other hand DVS NME with "Dark Science Electro" is a central pillar of electro music today to discover new artists, new labels, new releases...

4. What inspires you now to create music?

Everything inspires me, artists and songs of any type of musical genre, movies, comics, animation series... everything.

Ellen Allien & Apparat-turbo dreams (marc houle rmx)

From the 2006 collaboration album "Orchestra of Bubbles" by Ellen Allien & Apparat on BPitch Control (Germany). "Rotary" appears on the CD release was curiously cut from the 2x LP vinyl version, which is a shame because I feel it is at a tie with "Do Not Break" for strongest track.

The LP was co-produced years ago when Apparat used to write dramatic, orchestral downtempo & techno exclusively. His songwriting and production has since evolved to employ a full band.

Arris is techno producer, Kev Harris, from Brighton, UK.  Having been drawn to synthesiser music from a young age by bands such as The Human League, Blancmange, OMD and Art of Noise, it was a natural progression into the world of dance music in the 90's enjoying house and techno artists such as Dave Angel, Slam, Underworld, Orbital and Hardfloor.  He always knew he wanted to start making his own tracks and experimenting with electronic sounds, resulting in the evolving techno tracks he is producing today.
