This song is very personal for me--it's the song I sing when I am so broken over my sin, over my failures. And it's something I want to share to you.

The Two Cups

I don't believe in celebrating Christmas.

But I do believe that at this very moment, Christ is interceding for us before the Father, being our Advocate, "Jesus Christ the righteous." 

Think about it. The gospel accomplished, to be applied right at this very second, because Jesus is presenting himself to the Father so that no one can lay a charge against us. 

As the Westminster Larger Catechism says: 

Q. 55. How does Christ make intercession?
A. Christ makes intercession, by his appearing in our nature continually before the Father in heaven, in the merit of his obedience and sacrifice on earth, declaring his will to have it applied to all believers; answering all accusations against them, and procuring for them quiet of conscience, notwithstanding daily failings, access with boldness to the throne of grace, and acceptance of their persons and services.

Theanthropos

There is a man, before the throne 
Who intercedes for sinful men and has atoned
The Mediator for church below 
Theanthropos, the Son of God, Theanthropos 

Upholds the world with his own breath, 
He could never be held down by jaws of death. 
And on the third day was raised to life 
Providing healing with his blood and with his stripes.

Presents his sacrificial death in our place
