April has been officially proclaimed as Community Foundation Month by the Mayor of Grande Prairie, Bill Given; the Reeve of the County of Grande Prairie, Everett McDonald; the Mayor of Beaverlodge, Leona Hansen and the Mayor of Sexsmith, Claude Lagace.
“April has always been our awareness campaign month. It’s the time for us to get the word out on who we are, what we do in the community and how easy it is to partner with the Foundation for your giving goals” says Tracey Vavrek, Executive Director of the Community Foundation. “We are very fortunate to have the support of the local municipalities as our work is growing in these regional areas, we work with donors and charities throughout the Peace Country region.”
The Foundation currently holds and manages 109 endowment funds. Since inception in 1996, we have dispersed almost $3.8 Million dollars back into the Peace Country in the form of grants to over 470 local charitable programs and projects - supporting all areas.

The Community Foundation can support any CRA registered charity - from arts &amp; culture, education, children &amp; youth, healthcare, sports and recreation, seniors and the environment.
