Nekochan is back, with a delightful 12".

  With a wide array of influences, a very distinctive style and a strong taste for melody and crafted musical skills, French artist Chloé Arnaud aka Nekochan is surely one of the most exciting and refreshing producers at the moment. Her stylish blends and arresting collisions of electronica, bass and glitched-up beats, led by her aqueously expressive voice, mark her out immediately as an artist destined for widespread acclaim.



  A classically trained cellist, she evolved into Nekochan in 2006 after a few years applying her unusual
  voice and skills as part of an electronic duo. Inspired by baroque and classical composition as well as a flamenco-player stepfather, and a passion for oriental melodic patterns, her gift for catchy figures and intricate rhythms is no surprise given the sheer range and depth of her sonic colourbox, while her highly individual blend of sound and mood switches adeptly from electronica and techno to the more underground tones of dubstep and glitch hop … all with her unique vocal signature. Nekochan’s 2009 debut download-only release met with success in pushing dubstep into new zones, and now comes the first foray into vinyl, with the three-track killer ‘Minimal Bump’ EP, that will further reconfigure notions of what bass music can be.



  The title track has already been featured on Mary Anne Hobbs, who played an early version in may last year after hearing it on myspace. ‘Minimal Bump’ is a powerful techno/break/dubstep instrumental with a huge kick and seismic bass work, custom built for dancefloor mayhem, with its layered synths, advanced rythmic shifts, cavernous drops, and an explosive production style that recalls the intricacies of prime Meat Beat Manifesto at the same time as giving most wobble dubsteppers a run for their money. 



  On the flip, ‘Bombine’ is another view entirely; a emotive disjointed stepper with melancoly pop tones, which unfolds in a smokey torch-song style to reveal further layers to Nekochan’s innate musical instincts. It’s fluidly evolving contrasts between dominant bass levels, powerful rhythms, and subtly-pitched Japanese strings mix and grow around that voice, putting the listener as much in mind of Burial's sadness as Bjork’s vivid expression.



  Finally, Vahiné - already released as ARX002D, but pressed due to popular demand - is a refreshing journey into a lighter and atmospheric dubstep style, reminiscent in mood of Scuba or Martyn, with a dynamic bouncy drum pattern delivering the perfect groove for the heavy bassline to ride on while the sweet string melody leads from the front. Essential purchase for anyone

  seeking out new directions in bass-driven dancefloor electronics.



  The digital version of this EP (ARX004D) features an exclusive track : 'Harmful', a delicious blend of pop and glitched-up Dubstep, balanced between a narrative voice performance and funky bass synths. Anthony Batlle aka Hubwar is a south of France based producer who is definitely showing us how useless it is sometimes to look for names to define what can simply be referred to as bass music. Recently joining forces with airflex labs, the fresh mixture of sound he produces is unmistakable, call it techno/baile funk/dubstep/garage or dub, it's all of these at the same time but it's above all his own alchemy.

Long time passionate of fun sports and urban culture, he got into electronic music around Y2K and quickly felt an urge to get involved with the process of doing it. First as a dj and then starting to build his own tunes, he developped a taste for trippy hypnotic and groovy sounds somewhere between ninjatuned atmospheres and the wide influences of black music.

Promoter of the rare bass music nights in his hometown of Beziers, he has also been around for a while as a dj in the south of france.

Since his first dub experiments, Anthony kept on building his maze of sound, a crafty combination of syncopated breakbeats, churning rough synths and deep ambient pads which is likely to remind you of amon tobin's and as skream's . He manages to achieve an interesting balance between deep soundscapes and dancefloor energy.strongly recommended first release on Airflex labs.



Hubwar's debut effort on Airflex Labs grants us with two highly personal and organic rolling stompers.

With a carefully crafted outdoor night atmosphere, backed up with flutes and percussions, 'back from the shadows' is Hubwar's initiation rite into the world of bass music. Shrouded in a tribal atmosphere driven by a syncopated beat and a real heavyweight low end, the rough wobble synths and high pitched chords prompt us to get manic on the dancefloor.... 
In an equally inspired manner, 'Warped mind' starts off on a slightly sadder note reminding us the party has to end but don't be mistaken... That's just until the reggae skanks and vocal samples kick in. The bassline is as heavy and the beat even more relentless, driving the tune to an awesome drop where the main theme is revealed in a rather anthemic style. proper earworm to say the least. 
A surprisingly fresh blend of dancefloor bass music with ethnic, tribal and deep ambiances.

Anthony Batlle aka Hubwar, producteur prolifique et éclairé originaire de béziers récemment venu étoffer le catalogue du label Airflex labs , démontre une fois de plus que l'heure n'est plus à la distinction des styles lorsque l'on parle de bass music.

Passioné de cultures urbaines et de sports de glisse , Il se laisse happer par la vague éléctronique au tout debut du siècle et se decide rapidement à assouvir un besoin visceral de création.



Autodidacte inspiré, il fait ses armes en tant que dj tout en développant son propre son, délibérement envoutant , à la croisée d'influences ninjatune-esques et black music. 
Instigateur des rares soirées bass music au Capharnaüm à Béziers (34), il est également un fervent activiste de la scéne éléctro sudiste (avignon,toulouse, montpellier) depuis quelques années déjà.

Depuis ses premieres expérimentations dub, Hubwar continue à batir un labyrinthe sonore fondé sur une combinaison riche de beats efficaces et de mélopées atmosphériques. Tenant aussi bien d'Amon Tobin que de Skream, il parvient à maintenir l'équilibre entre une musique profonde,aux ambiances élaborées et une énérgie résolument dancefloor. A suivre de près... son premier E.P. 2 titres sortie sur airflex labs ces jours ci...



Ce premier E.P. d'HUBWAR sur AIRFLEX LABS propose une vision plus 'organique' du dubstep. Sur fond de flutes et de percussions, l' ambiance sonore nocturne de Back from the shadows nous plonge au coeur d'un marécage pour un rite initiatique spécial bass music. La rythmique, appuyée par de lourdes impulsions d'infrabasses, met l'accent sur la syncope pendant que les skanks made in dubstyle nous ramène dans le groove et que la wobble rugueuse emmène implacablement la track vers les sonorités les plus agressives du dubstep. Tribal et massif !

D'une manière tout aussi inspirée, 'HubWarped mind' démarre sur une note plus nostalgique... ce n'est que lorsque les guitares reggae et autres samples font leur entrée que l'on comprend de quoi il retourne. Les infrabasses et la wobble aggressive sont toujours au rendez-vous et le beat est toujours plus massif, assurant une assise inébranlable à cette track, mais c'est plutôt le gimmick rave qui s'insinue immédiatement dans l'oreille de l'auditeur qui en fait un morceau taillé pour le dancefloor, un indispensable ! 
Un alliage surprenant de bass music et d'ambiances tribales et atmosphériques.

Isotroph (Nicolas Couval) is a producer based in Di- jon, France. After years of editorial activism in french leading webzines, hundreds of musical reviews, he decided to start writing his own music, using his extended experience as a listener and reviewer as a rock-solid base for what had to become the Isotroph entity.
Back in 2008, he started to express his conception of deep electronic music which takes its roots in the ber- lin dub techno as well as UK’s deep dubstep scenes. 

After several remarked uploads on music-oriented social networks such as Soundcloud, he started working with french experimental bass music label (and Airflex Labs’ long time friends) F4T Music. This collaboration led to the release of the Eclosion EP on F4Tmusic, a real three acts odissey into deep ambient and dub techno universes.

Today, Isotroph is back with a brand new pack of deep bass music material on Airflex Labs. His sound is more precise, sharp, vibrant and narrative than ever. Deep House / Deep Techno / Ambient / Deep Dubstep / Dub Techno lovers, you have a new producer to count with.

Particulary influenced by forward-thinking beats and productions, he joined the Airflex Labs team with a new material : Passenger Ep, a combination of classic dub-techno soundscapes with current deep dubstep and distinctive future garage vibes. This EP includes three original tracks, as well as two remix by the Airflex Lab’s brain Opti and future garage's new sensation Neat.

The Passenger EP is made of 3 tracks showcasing Nicolas Couval’s influences and orientations, as well as 2 remixes by Neat and Opti.

Passenger is one of the most accomplished cros- sover between Deep House, Deep Dubstep and Techno you’ll have an opportunity to grab. With its always evolving structure, this one should please electronic music lovers and djs from Berlin to Paris to London.

Nenuphar is a very personal journey into deep elec- tronic music. This one has reminiscences of recent Scuba or Pole’s drops. Included in the EP is an exclu- sive «Bloom» remix by Airflex Labs’ Future Garage talent Neat who’s been pushing the track’s melodic and rythmic works to a climax.

Kenya is quite a groover, with its uncompromised deep sub bass and its 140 bpm flavor. It’s Isotroph’s vision of Dubstep that lays in this one. Included is the «Uhuru Peak» deeper and Garage flavored remix by Airflex Labs’ manager Opti who gave the track an uncompromised dub treatment over a groovy Garage beat, giving the track an even more emotional approach.
