Marking our first release as a label, ‘Hesitation’ journeys through the organic, heavenly melodics of 90’s jungle and intelligent drum & bass, all the while keeping up with modern sound design and processing techniques to create a hard-hitting fusion of different eras. Maxumus introduces lush synth pads, bright melodies, and that catchy vocal; before bursting into a hive of crisp, intricate drum-work and a creeping, weighty and ever-so-silly bassline. Despite the track title, the track refuses to stop evolving, melting into a chilled breakdown before returning in full force with wicked, sub-heavy basses and echoing vocals.

airloc's latest project - 'Habitats' - features a mixture of Jungle, Intelligent D&B, Breakbeat, and Triphop / Downtempo tracks; a collective effort from Maxumus and Legal Tender.

The 6-track runtime voyages through different natural environments, from the oceanic soundscapes of 'Blue-Tailed Giant Larvacean' and 'Quark (Splashdown Mix)', to the dense, vibrant rainforests of 'Totem' and 'Leafcutter Trek', as well as into the vast reaches of outer space, with 'Funk Star' and 'Quark (Trip Mix)'.

The idea behind this release was to showcase my progression as a music producer. 'Surface Level' is all about the break — I spent several hours re-arranging and editing it, finding what I feel is a good balance between detailed edits and maintaining a smooth, listenable flow.

'Air Traffic' represents my own take on a modernised intelligent drum & bass track. It retains the classic sound I love, while adding an extra edge to the production.
