With our guest mixes we want to open the eyes of our local/national scene for interesting artists and sounds from all around the globe.

The focus is not one genre or one tempo but exactly the opposite - the blending of genres, the creation of new sounds or a different approach on mixing.

Air Waves Guest Mix 004 - @najibmusic (Brussels, Belgium)

Volume four of our guest mix series comes from the multidisciplinary Moroccan artist NAJIB ن ج ي ب who is currently based in Brussels.

As DJ and Producer he is interested in genres that bring "chaos" by using a variety of rhythms permeating different cultures and by confronting them with each other. In his music he aims to formate a stability in chaos and to create a dystopian vision of his world allowing a continuous questioning of himself. Glitch, multi-textured sounds and deconstructed music elements are always present in his compositions.

After playing mixes on @threadsradio (Tottenham), @kioskradio (Brussels) and @lyl_radio (Lyon, Paris, Brussels) in the last months, he now curates his own monthly show on @ma3azef Radio راديو معازف.

His debut EP will be released on the Leipzig Label @human_le very soon.

Air Waves Guest Mix 005 - @yung_raj (Hyderabad, India)

Volume five of our guest mix series comes from the very talented indian artist Yung.Raj and is definitely one for all of our uptempo club music fans. 

Despite the "Yung" in his name Yung.Raj is far from new to all of this. With over 100+ released tracks ranging from Lo-Fi, Beats and House to various fast paced club sounds, he's not only incredibly talented but also one of the hardest working. 

Growing up in Hyderabad, he cut his teeth as a beatboxer, producer and DJ and is now considered to be one of the most interesting talents coming out of the country, playing at almost all the big festivals.

After releasing tracks and remixes via @krunkkulture (Mumbai) and @sampledeliveryrecords (Paris) and two EPs on @4ncurrency and @gutterfunk (Bristol) in the last months, we are very happy to have him for a mix full of Footwork, Jungle, D'n'B an other 160+ heat.

Air Waves Guest Mix 006 - @norazion1 (Perth, Australia)

We are very honored to present Nora Zion with a 100% production mix — which is not only a premiere for us, but for her as well! ✨ One hour of her  own tracks and remixes covering all kinds of contemporary club sounds from Dembow to UK Funky to Jersey Club to Juke.
 
The Bulgarian-born, Perth-based DJ and producer is one half of @bundemsound and co-founder of @thirddegreerecords. Coming from singing to Beats and learning how to produce on her own, she eventually got into electronic music and started to put out remixes. By now she’s a very active part of the local scene, promoting events and pushing forward-thinking club music, while frequently releasing some of the hottest club edits out there! 🔥

Air Waves Guest Mix 007 - @rassaaan(Brasília, Brazil)

Since discovering his 'Don't Hesitat EP' at @sleeveplusplus last year, we've been following his releases closely, which is why we're thrilled to introduce him as our latest guest in our mix series.

He is a brazilian DJ, producer and co-founded of the independent record label and party @nicendeadly, plus he has a monthly residency on @komunal_radio and is a part of @confronto-soundsystem.

As a passionate vinyl collector and enthusiast of bass and sound system culture, he is very much interested in the influence and the development of various genres of electronic music. This reflects in his selection, but also in his productions, in which he draws from sounds of the past and present, combining all these elements without limiting himself to a specific genre.

After releases via @yellowislandrecords, @bruta4200 and @zonaexp, he released his first record last year on the Parisian label @deepindisintl including a remix by @bailey-ibbs.

For our mix, he took a little tour through everything Breakbeat, from funky Garage and lots of wobbly Basslines to all kinds of faster Breaks, some more spheric, others definitely gun-finger-ready — With unreleased tracks from @mani_festo x @denhamaudio, @piankiknaip, @static-structures and himself.

Guest Mix 007 - Rassan

Next guest mix by @bleachld from Bern, Switzerland.

Having been a part of the scene for over 10 years, @bleachld first appeared as a DJ in 2019 when she began doing mixes for @radiobollwerk. After gaining recognition for her selection, gigs followed and she eventually started running her own club night together with Dubtopia founder @phrex at @kapitelbollwerkbern. Klubtopia is the little unruly sister of the legendary event series and is all about bass music.

Her mix is a beautiful hour-long journey through all the darker spheres of the bass music universe.

It opens with ethereal soundscapes, to then discover different melodies and drum patterns, while a wobbly bass pops up every now and then to remind you where the trip is going. Diving deeper into the experimental and futuristic approach of sub-focused music, you will hear Hard Drum and Baile Funk mutations, driving Breakbeats and of course some serious Dubstep weapons to finish things off.
