Release the Burden is IndoSoul's interpretation of the famous Indian classical krithi Brovabarama composed by Saint Thyagaraja. Set in the raga Bahudari, this piece brings a feeling of introspection leading to a sense of calm. This is one of my favourite tracks in the album — whenever I play this song everything around me fades away leaving me at peace with myself.

Take 2: Bantu is probably best described as Carnatic-Jazz. It is a breezy take on the Thaygarajar krithi, Bantu Reethi Kolu in the raga Hamsanadam. The Carnatic song sits over a jazz arrangement bringing together the primary improvisational music forms in the East and West.
