Aivars Kalējs - Meeting in the Rain - NYX Trio

Aivars Kalejs - concert organist, composer, pianist and improviser.

Kalejs has given concerts throughout Europe, USA, Canada, Middle-East and Japan and has participated in dozens of international organ festivals. He has recorded 6 solo CDs and participated in over than 50 CDs recordings. He has collaborated with many orchestras and choirs such as Kremerata Baltica and Latvian Radio Choir and conductors as Andris Nelsons, Pierre Cao, Maris Sirmais, Andres Mustonen, Sigvards Klava and Imants Kokars. For many years he is playing duo with soprano opera singer Inessa Galante, also regular concerts with one of the greatest French horn players Arvids Klisans.

As a composer, Aivars Kalejs has about 100 opuses of organ, piano, chamber, symphonic and choir music. His pieces have been played in organ concerts around the world and have won several composition awards (for example, symphonic work "Musica Dolente"). Some of his compositions have been published by "Edition Peters".
