This is my debut album—a collection of songs about love and life, expressed through piano, gentle synths, and Nintendo 64 sounds.

In writing this album, I only had one goal in mind: to have fun, like a tiger playing in water.

for this track, i wanted to capture the disorienting feeling of remembering things that others have forgotten. the track "glitches" through different sections like a person remembering different eras of their life.

I first composed this theme in 2013 for Cryamore's Kickstarter. Our game has come a long way since then--in the midst of development, we've been picked up by Atlus!

I revisited this tune with some new experiences that I've accumulated over the last couple of years, and worked with the wonderful Chris Woo and Kristin Naigus to record orchestral parts. The changes are subtle, but meticulously planned--I wanted to enhance the song while preserving the exciting, wide-eyed experience of composing for my first big game.

A huge thanks to surasshu as well, for the countless number of times he's listened to my tracks and given me advice and feedback!

"A small, peaceful town of the Wesdrow nation. Upon reaching adulthood, citizens are required to enlist in Wesdrow's reserve militia. While the town has maintained this loyalty to Wesdrow over the years without much protest, the town itself sits far from the dangers of large-scale war. It is surrounded on one side by a forest and opens into the Faris Plains on the other."

Dave/Blitz Lunar recently created a soundfont using the instruments from Bomberman 64, my favorite childhood game - and I wrote a song with it! These sounds make me ridiculously nostalgic and happy.

Cryamore - Nightfall at Ghilcrest (feat. surasshu, Michael Evans)

Musing freely on two themes from Disasterpeace's FEZ soundtrack: "Beacon" and "Forgotten." 

Amazingly, this was me and surasshu's first collaboration in person! It was great to feel things out and play off of each other face-to-face. The end result is different than what we're both used to - much more loose and improvisatory-sounding, as you'd expect from two people making music in a room together. 

We named our arrangement "Come Back" in reference to both the words beacon (a guiding light) and forgotten (something you've encountered in the past, but have lost.)
