Yet even veterans are able to surprise, and Smalltown's latest, "See Thru," is a true revelation of a tune. This hybrid jam, built around the soulful vocals of Lisa Lobsinger (Broken Social Scene), manages to feel equally at home slamming a club's main floor or anchoring an after party playlist. Is it nu-disco? Moombahton? EDM indie rock? (And where do the bugged out remixes from Thugli and Astronomar & Wuki fit?)
