Melbourne artist DJ Smilez -- known for his curated sets and infectious vibe, has fans calling his unique experience "the Smilez effect".

A local to the city of Melbourne, Australia – DJ Smilez has been recognized to have changed the path from a nightclub DJ to one of the most respected within the industry. He made a name for himself not only for his choice of music but for the energy he brings when playing – by championing a sound that blends Latin Rhythms, Brazilian Drums and Hip-Hop – otherwise known as the genre Baile Funk.

Mastering his skills for over 6 years, from practicing in his “home studio” to local nightclubs, bars and private functions – even remembering his first gig at a small Melbourne venue Horse Bazaar, which may seem underwhelming to some, however to him, it was a humble step into what would turn out to be a career he could only dream of – this is where he has been able to perfect his ability to cross-sonic boundaries and step out of the shadow image known as the-ordinary-nightclub-DJ and into someone who is admired for his unaccustomed visions and creativity.
