This was a mesmerising and emotional evening surrounded by friends and a simply beautiful & open minded crowd in Bachstelzen (Velvet Soup). 

This set is comprised of new & old unplayed material, and sound experiments I created in the build up to Fusion.

I want to say thank you to everyone, you made me feel something intense on this evening, returning home was never harder, and I'll never forget it.

✔️ What are your musical influences? What is your musical background?

For over a decade, afterhour music has been a big influence in my dj-mixes. Mostly because it is a place where tired still happy dancers keep the groove for the love of music, but also because it leaves space, where listeners can relax and dance at the same time..a healing combination. 

i collect tunes, listen to birds, dj many places, meet people, record frequencies, tend the garden, design sounds and am still learning.

✔️What makes good "afterhour"?

"On a misty morning in the dreams from the after..harmonies, rhythms and stories steams beautifully in the field. this is where the soul closes its eyes, and starts to  stomp in the dust of sun rays..this will pierce the forest with tomorrow"

✔️Do you have any thoughts you would like to share about your set?

I have given the title "kun slægers" in honor of the inspirational artists i am mixing in this set. I thank them for the contribution and the important work they are doing.
description: "slægers" can be translated to "slagers" which means a hit in musical terms..in norway. Probably in german too..i don't know! 
Anyway, this set is a straight up "only hits" from my present afterhour-catalogue.

Once again I felt very grateful to listen to music through the art and craft by House of Worship. In a cozy intimate setting, facing the sound system together with the people behind me, the individual self made incense enriching the air as well as the wonderful crisp and warm sound. You have to be there to understand how wholesome this experience is for music lovers.

I played spontaneously what felt right in the moment - without a crowd in front of you this is a total different experience as a DJ - I embraced all of it: the intimacy, the interplay of insecurity and security, the flaws, the feeling of just giving in, the pure joy and love to what I was doing.

Thank you Max for creating House of Worship and inviting me to be a part of it <3

jetzt fühle ich mich wieder ganz leicht. ich fühle mich lebendig. ich kann mir in dieser welt wieder eine zukunft vorstellen. ich habe wieder den mut für meine träume loszugehen. ich glaube wieder an die hellen tage.
in den letzten jahren war ich viel in der dunkelheit, auch wenn es nach außen nicht immer sichtbar war. der verlust geliebter menschen zog seelische schmerzen nach sich, die ich nicht glaubte zu überleben. trauer, die mich immer und immer wieder in wellen überrollte, zog in meinen körper, meine seele und meine gedanken ein und ich glaubte unzählige male an ihnen zu ertrinken. ich habe das licht nicht mehr gesehen. das leben fühlte sich an wie ein ewiger kampf. ich bediente meine gewohnten muster, die ich nach jedem verlust abspulte.. ich verlor mich in arbeit, projekten und rausch… ich versuchte mich nicht zu weit in die trauer fallen zu lassen aus angst zu tief zu fallen. ich hatte angst vor meiner eigenen gefühlswelt. ich hatte angst vor dem leben..
all das erzähle ich nicht, um mitleid zu erregen. ich möchte mit diesem set darauf aufmerksam machen, wie wichtig es ist, dass wir psychische erkrankungen ernst nehmen, dass wir darüber sprechen, dass wir den mut haben uns zu zeigen in der zerbrechlichkeit unseres seins. es ist immer noch ein tabu - thema, aber ich möchte, dass wir es sichtbar machen. es ist allgegenwärtig. wir alle haben menschen in unserem umfeld, die mit psychischen erkrankungen kämpfen, auch wenn es oft nicht auf den ersten blick sichtbar ist. depressionen sind real. trauma ist real. lasst uns das nicht unter den tisch kehren, nur weil wir von generationen groß gezogen wurden, die lieber verdrängen und vergessen, als dinge zu verarbeiten und zu heilen.. lasst uns gemeinsam da durch gehen - denn mental health matters!
ich habe versucht diese zeit des schmerzes und der trauer mit abstand in diesem set zu verarbeiten. die musik hat mir geholfen das alles nochmal zu fühlen. schonungslos, pur und in ihrer ganzen intensität. ich wünsche dir, egal welchen kampf du gerade kämpfst, dass du nicht alleine bist und du auch irgendwann wieder an die hellen tage glaubst.

As a daughter of a Swiss mother and a Ghanaian father, Ajele was born and raised in Switzerland, where, at the age of eighteen, she got introduced to the electronic music scene. Soon she realized there were hardly any female DJs. Now that was something she strived to change! The decision was made and the first records, decks and a mixer were bought. Vinyl shopping became an addiction and playing them a passion. 

Since 1996 she’s an inherent part of Zurich’s electronic music scene and her versatile and solid music style has given her many opportunities to open the night.
