I started working on this beat around 8:00 PM today. (I'm posting this at 9:45 PM.) I felt like sampling a Bollywood track, so I Googled "best bollywood music 1970s" and found...this! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpM0jPd6-7w

"Chingari Koi Bhadke," by Rajesh Khanna and Sharmila Tagore, from the movie Amar Prem. 

I just took the intro from that track, looped it, and added BEATS and BASS.

I also managed to make a synth patch that kinda-sorta emulates that classic, perfectly-distorted old-school Bollywood string sound. (I maintain it's probably the best lead sound that exists anywhere.) I still haven't gotten Bollywood melodies down, but that's just time and practice.

For less than two hours' work, I like where this went.

Messing around wiht the OP-1 as always. I started by playing around with fancier chords than I'm used to. I realized I was out of my depth, so I stuck to 6 and 7 chords, and made a DnB thing with a tinky piano.

Then I found this preset patch called "TWANKLE" and it sounded rad as fuck. So I made a kinda-CoD-ish??? movie-ish??? theme with it. mwahahaha

NeoScum, thanks to the rock-and-roll leanings of its GM @gannon-reedy , has made a new push to (at least for its world) reshape the sound of the magic-cyberpunk aesthetic. Now, the NeoScum hack and < HAX > and slash to punk rock, all screaming guitars and clipped-out drums.

Which got me thinking: I'm putting together a D&D world set in a Fantasy India and grappling with faith and technology, and why not ditch the tablas and Urdu singing for ANGRY ANGRY SYNTH MUSIC?
