Und so ist es dann durch’s Band hinweg auch - man wird getragen und stetig getrieben von eher deepen und harten Klängen - in einem aber fast schon gegensätzlich erstaunlich gemächlichen Tempo.

After his first contact to electronic music in  the late 90s at Palazzo Club in Bingen, which wasn't enough, he he discovered his love for melodic techno, acid and techno in 2012 after moving to Frankfurt and a passion for slower beats crystalised defined by ambivalent beats, pitched techno, acid, organic, ketapop and driving deep sounds.

"Dedo Nebo"
(Part 2 of a 4-Part Series Called "Balkanika")

Welcome to my special storytellers' mix series, called "Ancient Hearts", which tells stories from many cultures, invoking the heart and soul of our ancestors, which are rooted in the ancient melancholic sound, which speak of the great suffering in life, BUT also arrive, in the end, at a home full of love and life and joy.

Through exploring the sound of various cultures, we begin to see the same spirit, message, and meaning among the people. We must travel through our sorrow to truly find joy. We must move in relationship with our ancestors' victory in suffering or lose our entire future and hope.

This second episode, the second in a four-part release, is told by me, Desert Raven, and is inspired by the sound of the Balkans and has a powerfully deep, mystical feel, but also has, in increasing measure, danceable energy as each if the four sets progress and over the course of the four set journey. This second story in the Balkanika release is called "Dedo Nebo", which means, in the language of North Macedonia, "Grandfather Sky".

It is a incredibly powerful flow state downtempo mix with a strong groove all the way throughout.  Desert Raven considers it to be one of his deepest spiritual grooves and ecstatic states that he's been in while mixing.  It feels like your soul is opening its eyes to the spacious sky above.  As the name implies, the celestial vision of the Creator who is Father to us all, helps us see the broad horizons before us, helps us to not lose hope, but look to the skies above, where the eagle and raven soar, free of the Earth's constant pain and suffering.

This is the heart of the grandfather and is in us all.  It helps us get in touch with our ancient memories, our intuition, and spiritual ability to receive and live according to a sacred vision. It, like the heavens above and beyond, is the original spiritual home of us all, who are merely pilgrims in this world, this short earthly, temporal life, which one day, ends and lets the after life begin.  It is the true ecstatic, the holy, pure, and almighty vision, with the Father of All Lights speaking to our hearts, saying to us that we, His children, are loved and eternal, that He wants us to walk in communion in the spirit, forever.  This mix is filled with and open to the Breath Of Life giving to our very first ancestors in the beginning of creation. 

As one of the Balkanika mixes, this is very Balkan in its outlook, sensibility, and mystical expression, and has some soulful live instrumentals provided by me, for even more soul and spirit and passion.

Fernando Botero, the Colombian artist renowned for his distinctive style, has captivated audiences worldwide with his unique interpretation of the human figure.
