Lustre Kings Productions is excited to announce the "Junction Riddim”, produced by the Zion I Kings. This unique riddim boasts a wide-variety of diverse artists from current to veteran talent, while geographically employing Jamaica, US Virgin Islands, Europe and the USA. The composition is exclusive with the use of live instrumentation interspersed with elements of digital programing, dubstep basslines and hip hop production. Performed live in Jamaica at Tuff Gong Recording studio by the Zion I Kings utilizing the drumming from legendary Roots Radics member, Lincoln “Style” Scott. Zion I Kings is a production trio that has been particularly prolific over the last few years, formed from three notable reggae label heads and audio engineers; Zion High Productions, David Goldfine (bass), I Grade Records, Laurent “Tippy” Alfred (keyboards) and Lustre Kings Productions, Andrew “Moon” Bain (guitar).

The first single on the riddim, "For the Children” a combination with LK feature artist, Jahdan Blakkamoore, teamed with rising star, Kabaka Pyramid, was released last spring to great response worldwide. Some intriguing additions to the riddim are present on the full release; the legendary “Dancehall Don-Dada”, Johnny Osbourne among them! It is rare to see Johnny appear on a new release or any riddim compilation and he delivers his classic reggae styling on “We Steppin’”. Another notable combination is crafted by the brilliant Angela Hunte (Jay-Z, Major Lazer) and Holland’s talented Ziggi Recado on “Crazy is as Crazy Does”. Par for the course from Lustre Kings, the mighty Lutan Fyah comes in strong with his Rastafarian anthem “Up in the Hills” urging his community to depart the ways of Babylon and live a more natural existence. Two other names that bring a fresh energy to the riddim are up and comers, Hempress Sativa on “Still Surviving” and Bobby Hustle on “Chatty Mouth”, both making great use of the track. Other noteworthy names that appear are Pressure Busspipe, Midnite. Lloyd Brown and the ever-articulate Mr. Perfect Giddimani.

For almost two decades, Lustre Kings Productions has become synonymous with modern roots reggae music and fostering burgeoning talent. This independent label has carved a name out for itself grounded in conscious dancehall and reggae music. The “Junction Riddim” delivers on all points, once again pushing the envelope of the genre, introducing fresh faces amongst familiar ones while remaining rooted in live musicianship and forward thinking production that resounds thoughtful, creative and evocative messages.

Hailing from the Island of St Croix, Midnite is one of the most promising roots reggae bands of the millennium. Many answers to world troubles are cryptically placed in Midnite’s steadfast, strong lyrical content deleiverd by smooth and simple melodies. Lead singer Vaughn Benjamin’s angelic voice is an amalgamation of expressions in music. His soulful chanting and raspy voice mellows can into a sweet and sincere experience. The message is clearly Rastafarian and their devotion to spreading that message is inspirational. Vaughn delves deep into subjects that are relevant to these times by addressing distinct social problems of today, while decoding ancient philosophies from the past. To complete their enigmatic formula and keep a harmonious weave in their music, Midnite encompasses a heavy use of drum and bass patterns that are reminiscent of the 70’s classic roots period of Jamaican reggae. Midnite does not play by the rules, hence, they are setting a new standard in reggae music.

They have achieved an extensive catalog of albums, and a fan base that continues to grow and expand worldwide. Midnite has become notorious for their live performances, with sets that often exceed three hours. A vigorous and intense sound creates a vibe that penetrates straight to the heart. These epic musical communions have earned Midnite an enormous following throughout the roots reggae community. Midnite’s spiritually connected delivery on stage and in their recordings are exactly what fans respond to, in perilous and joyous times alike.

“Infinite Quality” features a powerful combination of Vaughn Benjamin’s searing lyrics, with the cutting edge productions of Lustre Kings’ producer, Digital Ancient (Andrew “Moon” Bain”). Responsible for coordinating the majority of the musical arrangement and production on this record, ‘Moon’ draws from a diverse musical background to create a sound unprecedented in Midnite’s vast catalogue. There is additional production from LK’s colleagues: I Grade Records, Zion High,  Diego ‘Fuego’ Campo (Noble Society) and Nick Fantastic (Hard Times Riddim). This wide-range of musical contribution combined with Vaughn’s potent lyrical style has lead to “Infinite Quality.” This impressive and unforgettable album is one of a kind in reggae music today. It incorporates seasoned reggae musicians such as Tony Ruption of Third World, Wadi Gad, Dean Pond and the legendary Basil ‘Benbo’ Creary. Equipped with live strings and horn lines all beautifully arranged throughout the album. With genre styles ranging from roots, dancehall to hip-hop, “Infinite Quality” is an album for the ages.

ABOUT US
One of life’s chief lessons is the consistency of change. The Earth, once conceived flat, is now thought to be round. The Book of Enoch, Noah’s great-grandfather, was obscured for generations until three copies were brought out of Ethiopia by a prominent European explorer. Events like these have triggered paradigm shifts in the evolution of human thinking, yet the same principle applies to individual growth as well.

Akae Beka is the current manifestation of an evolving consciousness. Following a quarter of a century as lead singer and co-founder for the legendary, St. Croix-based band, Midnite, Vaughn Benjamin was inspired to intensify his light when life situations led him to revisit the Book of Enoch. He then realized his preparedness to answer the calling of a sacred oath described therein, the Akae, the Beka, one and the same. Much like the archangel Michael who was responsible for the truths pertaining to the secrets of creation, so does Benjamin today accept his role in a parallel time of rampant deception and broken taboos in the arenas of world leadership. Always rooted firmly in the teachings of His Imperial Majesty, Emperor Haile Selassie I, his personal evolution and reaffirmed purpose is manifested in his newly declared name.
