on the west side of Lansing
that’s my home town
Michigan born and raised
Out in Florida now
where the sun is always shining
and the traffic’s wild
remember begging my mom’s 
to come here as a child
wanna go to Walt Disney
and see Mickey Mouse
when we finally got to go
had the time of our life’s 
me and big bro chillin
not a worry in sight
until the Haunted Mansion
we were in for a fright
it was so damn scary had to close my eyes
I peeked out a couple of times
like Nope!!! ……
I ain’t dying
Made my family laugh a bit
and errbody just smiling
one of my fondest memories
still had my pops around
he use to take us to arcade
Pinball Pete’s downtown 
dropping quarters out his pocket
watch us scramble the ground
man he thought it was so funny 
we still laugh bout it now
I forgave him for the times
that he wasn’t around
had to learn
every relationship doesn’t work out
if you was raised in the hood
you know what I’m talking about 
made the best of what we had 
some things ….we went without
but regardless of my status
it was loved no doubt
born and raised in the 80s 
and I say that proud
if I could do it all again
I would leave right now
