I finished recording EVIVA late October 2000. It was originally a CD, first I burned them one at a time and printed and cut a bunch of covers, then I got the CD manufactured properly. There were a lot of these CDs out there at one point, I wonder how many are still around. This was something of a message in a bottle to a pleasant piece of my imagination. Thirteen years later, same place, different time. It is the 1st part of a 3 part series, I still owe one more to it, maybe one day........

This mixtape brought a lot into my life, and I've been told that this mixtape brought a lot into others lives too. I hope you enjoy it.

EVIVA (something lovely)

I made this mix in 2000 - 2001, it was when I had gotten some new hip hop promo records when that was still happening, some stuff was a bit older, all good records. Some tunes / artists on this mix went on to become very famous, I'm happy to know that I was pushing that shit when it was very underground..........to fall in love.........and the last hidden tune is the homie C Rayz Walz from his release The Prelude. I hope you like the mix.

I decided to put out a bunch of the stuff that has been sitting in the lab. These are all beats I made from somewhere between the late nineties and 2007ish.
Also put some of the unfinished tunes that were recorded here on this. Two tunes with my homegirl Tiombe Lockhart, one tune with the big homie C Rayz Walz, a freestyle iphone recording from PROPS of Renee Neufville over a beat i really like, one with Vinia Mojica that she co produced, which we did in one night as a scratch track for a CMJ showcase we had at PROPS.

The Wax Sculpture Side A

I did this cassette a few years back from my guy Chicago Dave, they duplicated it and sold it out of a vending machine at The Owl in Chicago. It did real well on the guy who ran the venues soundcloud, but I don't know what happened to that guy, or what's happening at that venue anymore. I listened to this the other day, it has some good parts. I hope you enjoy it. There's a B Side too, but I think that's sticking to the tape. Until I find myself beside myself for real.
