Akali Akali - Nachdem er Ben Böhmers Track "Promise You" remixte und damit weltweit einige Aufmerksamkeit bei Fans elektronischer Musik erlangte, hatte Akali Akali Veröffentlichungen auf den Berliner Labels Endless Music, DOMUM und Ton Töpferei und kehrt 2021 mit einer Auswahl an frischen Kompositionen zurück. Die im Frühjahr 2021 über das Label BRU BRU BRU BRU veröffentlichte 3-Track-EP "La Tentative d'une Experiénce" ist der Original Soundtrack zu "The Attempt Of An Experiment", einem 2020 erscheinenden Kurzfilm der renommierten Produktionsfirma Stink Films.

Der in Berlin und Wien lebende Akali Akali ist Teil der europäischen Club-Szene und hat zahlreiche Live- und DJ-Sets bei Underground-Club-Events (Deutschland, Frankreich, Polen, Österreich) und Independent-Festivals (Fusion Festival, Aufwind, WWTBD in der Kunsthalle und andere) gespielt. Neben seiner Performing-Aktivität ist Akali Akali ein Multimedia-Komponist, Sounddesigner und klassischer Musikkünstler, der selbstgemachte Instrumentalsamples in seine Produktionen einwebt. Seine Arbeiten sind gesättigt mit selbstgemachten Audiosamples und Loops und erreichen eine großartige Verbindung zwischen akustischen und maschinell erzeugten Klängen.


Akali Akali - After remixing Ben Böhmer's track "Promise You" and getting some attention from electronic music fans worldwide, Akali Akali had releases on Berlin-based labels Endless Music, DOMUM and Ton Töpferei and returned with a selection of fresh compositions in 2021. The 3-track EP "La Tentative d'une Experiénce" released in spring 2021 via the label BRU BRU BRU BRU is the Original Soundtrack to "The Attempt Of An
Experiment", a 2020 short film featured by the renown production company Stink Films.

Based in Berlin and Vienna, Akali Akali has been part of Europe's club scene performing numerous Live & DJ Sets at underground club events (Germany, France, Poland, Austria) and independent festivals (Fusion Festival, Aufwind, WWTBD at Kunsthalle and others). Besides his performing activity, Akali Akali is a multimedia composer, sound designer and classical music artist who weaves self-made instrumental samples into his productions. His works are saturated with self-made audio samples and loops and achieve a great marriage between acoustic and machine-made sounds.

Playing afterhour sets always seems like a good chance to surprise the audience with a fresh sound. Most of the people have been out and dancing for several hours straight, so bringing in some fresh energy to the dancefloor seems like the right thing to do.
In this particular situation, I took over after Robert Johnson’s Resident DJ ATA, who delivered groovy and eclectic tech-tunes.
The audience was very receptive and as soon as I started playing a bit harder music from my favorite techno artists, throwing in some acid-inspired experimental tunes and ambient soundscapes in between, the mood in the club changed and many of the audiophiles who’ve been carefully listening in a relaxed mode rose to their feet and started dancing wildly.
It felt very liberating to take the crowd on a journey through various styles of the techno-genre and showcase the full range of my sound preferences.

Planet Mu are very happy to be releasing 'Vicious Circles', the debut EP by Sinjin Hawke and Zora Jones, who aside from producing music also run the audio-visual production unit 'Fractal Fantasy'.

Zora released several collaborations on last year's 'Visceral Minds 2' including 'Dark Matter' with Planet Mu's Jlin, while Sinjin has collaborated with DJ Rashad, Just Blaze and MikeQ, and also produced music for monoliths like Kanye West and Frank Ocean.

Remarkably, given the breadth of their work, 'Vicious Circles' is their first collaborative EP, and the first time either have released on vinyl.

The EP is a great showcase for the duo's emotional, maximalist chimeras of abstract pounding beats. From the punchy, circular, grandiose build-ups of opener 'Vicious Circles', to the unyielding melancholy of 'God' with its sinister Bulgarian choir sample against a peak Timbaland-era rhythm, the record's potent synths and manipulated vocals are simultaneously fierce and friendly. 'Source of Conflict' is a poised dance between pulsing ambient textures and splintered 808s, while 'Lurk 101' pits a volley of abstracted juke toms up against a hammering drum-line. 'BabyboySosa' feels like drum-less drill, manipulating vocals into strange alien shapes before spiralling snares start to form a forceful march. The EP concludes on the love anthem 'And You Were One' with a pitched up vocal running through its chorus of bent sub tones and chimes.

Felix Lee, the producer formerly known as Lexxi and @5tarb01, Elysia Crampton collaborator and ex-organiser of the culture-clash Endless parties and its namesake NTS radio show, has signed to Planet Mu. The first fruits of his future album is 'KOH', a vocal debut from Felix, co-produced by Whitearmor with additional vocals by Ecco2k (@gravityboys)

Felix delivers his cascading verse through spiralling fx, as if in a haze of insomnia, "It's like I'm living inna daze", Ecco2k operating as a dual voice, as the delicate synths seem to shimmer back in response. "I'm the king of hearts I got missing parts"; the lyrics paint an ambigiuous picture of detachment and shapeshifting, dreamt through the lense of a petty thief; "I'm breaking thru your locks, jumper cable knots, run off with the engine block". A taste of what's to come.

His style is heavily influenced by artists such as Kangding Ray, Arvo Pärt, music of the late baroque style as well as polystylistic soviet composers of the early 20th century and he has written music for numerous theatre productions and dance performances in Europe. “The void of perception between two extremes, and the concept of the duality of human nature were fields which fuelled my work,” says the artist of his most provocative EP "This Is What It Felt Like".
