DIdn't know how this would turn out.  Recorded my well respected and talented friend on his Saz and Djembe, and attempted to piece together a song.  I'm blown away at the results!  This is made with the intention for performing live with live expression through dance and music.  With the Ancient Musings event that is put on here in RVA.

Another Great suggestion from my wife, she helped out alot with the arrangment on this, I dig on it, I hope you will too. It always feels special to me to remix legendary artist like this, it is always a challenge to honor their music with additions.  Its all about the big drums and Bass, that's all it really needs to reach the dance floors of our times.  I of course sprinkled little instrument sauce all over, mmmh yummy.

Another great suggestion from my wife.  This song really moved me throughout the creation process.  I used bits from the original, the 2009 solo version, and a sax version and spliced them together and created all the back drop myself.  LOVE!

Started this song back in early last year.  I remember being the proudest I had ever been of something I had worked on.  This song has been hiding away.  I revisted and applied all the mixing wizardry I could to make it present itself as clearly as I could.  More ideas called to me to apply, but time is a precious thing, and I really just wanted to encapsulate what I had done in the past, and continue to move on to the next step towards progress.  A real pleasure to work on this song, I appreciate Nelly Kate an amazing artist from Richmond, for giving her blessing to work on her beautiful music.  Its funny because she went to great lengths to make her album ish ish in an old school analog format.  Then I went in there and digitized the fuck out of it.  HA!  Enjoy.
