In this release, Saxon shows to us a tool which he was unsure to show at first. But decided that the message sung deemed it worthy. Track three, 'Solid Soul'. A minimal drum and bass feature with a twist of conscious lyricism, technical sound design and tactile textured bass lines, betrays yet another glimpse in to the extensive tastes that Saxon is inspired by.

The five other tracks take on the form of Bass Music & Deep Dubstep. Each with it's own vibe and hypnotic, perpetual crescendo. 'Mood Movement' and 'Rune Stone' bring on a techy dub and chord marauder high. Loaded with perpetual grooves and deepness that'll make those closed eye lids flicker along double time to that tappin' toe. 'The Lesson' and the remix of Circular's 'Constructive'. Recuperates the mind, body and soul by representing the importance of ritual and ceremony. Emotional and evocative, passionate and true. With bass lines to rattle the lungs within their ribcage. Last, but certainly not least, 'Sailor'. An experimental piece, that drives forward upon a half time Psytrance beat. Technical squelches and sound design accompanied by a few addictive licks from Saxon's accordion. Hence the name, 'Sailor'. In the near future, there is to be an assortment of 'Sailor' remixes due for release on Saxon's label, Triple Drop Productions. Keep an ear out and a toe to the ground, as I'm sure the rumble of their approach shouldn't be hard to miss.

So little is understood, yet we have come so far. It seems that all there is to know could be laid out as a single, interminable and fluid experience. But beyond this, what is next? 

The Last Question is a culmination of over a year’s experimentation and emotional involvement with sound. This release pushes further into the Sixis project, exposing new worlds and new journeys. Abstract ideas gel together into a precisely streamlined experience, simultaneously leaving a vast expanse up to the listener’s imagination. For Amani Friend and his Liquid Bloom project, the Re:Generations mixes are a gift that keeps on giving. First remixed by AtYyA, who took on the entire album by himself, now an all-star cast of subsonic wizards from around the globe are putting their own spin on these intoxicating tunes. 

Stars of the psychedelic world like Hedflux and Land Switcher pump thrilling bass into “Roots of the Earth”and “Fire Gathering,” respectively. Kaminanda takes “Sacred Blessing” on a more than 11-minute epic journey. Numatik ignites new life into Fire Gathering .Suduaya, Momentology, Salis, and Nanosphere run the gamut from rich, organic strings and ethereal voices to dark, brooding, and bellowing sub bass covering the spectrum from delicate, ambience to pounding grooves. TRIBONEonce again remixes Deya Dova for a Desert Trax release, and Erothyme closes out the collection with a sprawling anthem of lush sounds.

Into The Web [ Into The Web EP-Dubmission Records]

A year after the release of his debut full-length album, Omens & Artifacts, KEY-G returns to Desert Trax. With a high-energy, sprawling album, “EP” is hardly an appropriate term for a collection of songs, each more than 7 minutes and some topping out around 12 minutes, which gives Curled Up Dimensions a double album feel.

“Half of Nothing” propels the listener into the album with a psystep sound and a double time beat. Fans of Birds of Paradise will get their midtempo fix on “Quantum Strikes.” The title track gets into the Ott zone with a dubby feel, and “Unleashing the Forces Within” stays in the dub realm, but soars as an uplifting gem. The lone collaboration on the album is “Pinpricks of Light” which returns to the hard-hitting psybreaks realm. “Ascension Upgrade” truly tickles the Shpongle fans who demands an extra helping of bass.

Curled Up Dimensions is out November 30 on Desert Trax.
