Here's my current promo mix to start of 2017.  A few tracks i played recently at Infinite One New Year Festival 2017 in Golden Bay, New Zealand. I'm proud to be a sikh girl in the psychedelic scene and a DJ. So here's my mix filled with deep, dark and full power psychedelic sounds - just the way i like it (honestly some of melodies and sounds sound very Indian to me and takes me back to my culture's music - I hope to be producing soon.....all in good time perhaps. Recorded during a full moon, I am happy with this set especially because this was my first attempt in recording this set that day. I was in a really good flow and found only 1 or 2 mistakes but still decided to upload this set. It's all about flow I feel, and this set I felt it. The feelings were strong right from my soul. You can see this as a raw and live set almost. I hope you enjoy this as much as I did mixing these tracks :) I've gone into a slightly different psychedelic vibe, more elemental with some temperamental twisted dark sounds but sweet melodies. Enjoy :)

DJ Akasha is the project of Akash Sandhu, based in New Zealand. She comes from a family of music enthusiasts, passionate singers and a deeply rooted Punjabi culture.
Akasha began listening to electronic music at the age of 12 and soon discovered the psychedelic scene after.
She adopted her alias Akasha, which in Sanskrit means the first element of creation, the substratum or very basic form of sound, the 5th element.
Akasha has played at countless gigs in New Zealand and made her debut gigs at Alien Nation (NZ), Dimension Festival (NZ), Xmas Moon Mountain (Thailand) all in the same year 2014, and landed her very first headline not long after in Melbourne including Lunar Dreaming Festival 2017 & Esoteric Festival 2018, Planet Express 2019 (AUS), in Europe - Bubble Festival 2018 (MALTA). In late 2019, Akasha signed to European label BMSS Records.
Akasha is evolving to the darker side of psytrance, introducing strong melodies you won't be able to get out of your head. Her tracks are carefully selected with a personal reminiscing touch. Grasp and release your euphoria through Akasha's mixes.

DJ Akasha is the project of Akash Sandhu, based in the enchanting landscapes of New Zealand. Born and raised in Malaysia, she grew up surrounded by the rhythmic melodies and harmonious cadences of her family's music-loving heritage.

Akasha's fascination with electronic music began at the tender age of 12, and it was later in New Zealand that she stumbled upon the captivating realm of psychedelic sounds. Her first encounter with the Dimension crew's outdoor party left her spellbound and ignited her desire to take control of the decks.

Renowned for her signature style in Night Full On, Akasha's musical journey naturally gravitated towards the realms of Dark Psy and Forest, where she discovered her love for blending the genres and pushing sonic boundaries.

Having graced numerous stages across New Zealand, Akasha made her entrancing debut at prominent events such as Alien Nation (NZ), Dimension Festival (NZ), and Xmas Moon Mountain, Thailand in the eventful year of 2014. Not long after, she secured her inaugural headline performance and appearance in prestigious events such as Lunar Dreaming 2017, Progression Sessions 2018, and Planet Express 2019 all in Australia, and Bubble Festival 2018 in Malta. Notably, she warmed up the dance floor for Virtual Light at Esoteric Festival 2018.

In the midst of the roaring Covid pandemic in late 2020, Akasha unleashed her very first 10-track compilation titled 'True Grit' with signed label BMSS Records. The release features a lineup of esteemed artists, including Braincell, Martian Arts, Tron, Architekt, Lucid Mantra, Justin Chaos, U-Grid (Prohecht & Noise Gust), Entasis, Asimilon, Junky Monkey & Kundalini.

Akasha's natural inclination leads her to explore the darker realms of psytrance, gravitating towards captivating leads harmoniously fused with powerful bass lines. Each track she selects bears her unique touch, evoking open-mindedness and inviting listeners to embark on a euphoric journey of self-discovery.
