This was released in 2018 and taken down to make space a single that would eventually be my first taste on what a buzz was like later that summer. It was the new year, I had cut my hair short when I started my music career byin 2016 and this was the first time I had an Afro again. I decided to make a song about that, .. intentionally creating nervy bars that make some cringe cuz artists were being criticized for their art expression; all while bilingually flipping the hottest single by cardi b that had us in a chokehold… s/o to the woman from aracaju. 😉

Cabbage recalling his time hanging out with syd from the internet, and odd future. me stating I want my work rate to emulate Beyoncé’s, and both of us giving feedback on dc’s massive gentrification. There’s a lot going on here.. but my god, my verse came from yah himself.. the nba youngboy triple entendre. This was an entry point to me realizing im getting better than most of my peers back home. and this was the tip of the iceberg.. but still one of the coldest verses released that year. I don’t think I could pull a verse as good as this now… and this is not the best from that year.

some of the lines on this freestyle was used for my song BABEL {ANGER}.  I started growing a rat tail lol. "checking in" was the biggest topic of discussion in rap (dummies). a weird southerner country accent at the end (gotta be Square Dance by Eminem inspired). but at the time i was just ready to drop my song "diddy" the very next month.

Trying a little too hard to re-create the magic I did on AHH PEDRINHO. Triangle Cosign/cosine bar was reworked on my sick mode freestyle a lot better months later. Idk maybe I was so focused on the promo run for my single Diddy. either way.. hearing certain things makes me cringe heavy. Superb Lion King bars tho lol.

I don’t even know where to begin with this song. Big shout out to Justus Harley. You know when you’re on a roller coaster  and you start and right before you reached that peak and excitement.. this is that moment. Flow wise.. NUTS. metabolism metaphors.. referencing and bragging about traffic.jam and surrealism for the very first time even though it was still in its reference stage. Negro! do you know how HARD it was to rap in Spanish and Portuguese and English in a double time flow lol.. anyway I’ve always been a reactionary artist… if BUS RIDE was denial, this stage was surely anger lol. Inspired by the funding I lost for diddy.

Riddle me this? In 2018, why tf you think AkinG Kalld Pedro made a single dedicated to Sean Combs? money this, money that, opinions but not providing the chicken for it be the wildest shit ever. i look back at this and realize a couple of things. i was such a Cardi advocate. lol idk why. "Notorious P" as a moniker sounds very useful in 2026. Flow was platinum. I used every Money phrase i could think of just to get the message across. it was crunch time and i needed some change. BARGAINing?... see what i did there lol? the NWA metaphor is as good as it's gonna get (Im winking at this point)

Tints was prolly song on the year in 2018, i avoid songs by Anderson .paak, Andre 3000 out of annoyance of people comparing my music to them.. I am a huge admirer of AP so when he did a song with my favorite rapper i had to do a remix. this song has many nasty highlight reels. the Nicole Kidman/absent fathers/ghost entendre. "Cooler than lupe CD". "Vaca somewhere like cops not indicted". the Oscar/Leo Dicap bars that is prolly missed cuz the flow speed i picked up.. but my favorite "I'll Die for this shit, who the black swan?". this is my favorite because my shock value punchlines are getting better, my film buffness is on full display but most of all i predicted my 2019/20 year even tho my frustration was at a all time high on this song. what stage we on? depression? nah I finally understood I was going through a quarter life crisis. “My attitude will not make or break me” I’m dedicated. 

The original remix did not have the actual instrumental back then. me and paul ended up re-mastering this with the official beat.

Formerly known as AkinG Kalld Pedro, Akinola Pedro was born in Washington D.C. Being of West African and Afro-Brazilian descent, he was raised by Nigerian parents on the outskirts of the nation’s capital. In 2019, he released his demo album, SURREALISM, and later that year, found himself amongst 10 other emerging artists that won the inaugural 2Kbeats Contest created by Steve Stoute’s UnitedMasters. Pedro’s breakout single, Traffic.jam {BARGAIN} was hand-picked by Kevin Durant and Stoute himself for NBA 2K20 Soundtrack.

In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Pedro released his single Fancy; the single featured the R&B act, Alex Vaughn, off his 2021 debut album, Children of Immigrants!. The album also boasted features from Innanet James, Lord Afrixana, and his single "INTERNACIONAL! (Plan B)” which earned him a placement on NBA 2K21 Next Gen Soundtrack, marking Pedro with back-to-back placements with 2KSports. After an artist name change, Akinola released his 3rd EP titled Tatooine: the world that never was in 2022, and in the same year, created the genre-fusing musical band, “The Genre That Never Was”, while also securing a brand ambassador for the Oregon clothing company, Pendleton Woolen Mills. In 2025, Pedro released his sophomore album, POMEGRANATE?. The album’s tracks were each released in the span of 10 days as a countdown leading up to its release date on February 10th
