Burning Man gave me one of those unforgettable gifts, sometimes the unplanned moments are the ones that stay with you forever.

My only gig at BM was supposed to be on Monday evening but it took us 7 hours in line to get into the gate so I couldn’t make it on time.
The last heavy storm on Tuesday left the roads muddy, the bikes were pretty much useless, and honestly, I wasn’t feeling my best. But sometimes the universe has other plans. After walking across the playa with my dear friend Lost Desert for his set at Sound Garden, as he was about to finish I was asked to step in and ended up playing an unexpected 3-hour journey.
As the rain returned, the tent filled up and I did my usual thing. I got pretty emotional after I finished playing, was just so grateful to have been given this opportunity and it reminded me why I’ve always wanted to come here to experience the community, connection, and the beauty of the unexpected.

Special thanks to the whole team of the Sound Garden camp, you definetely made my first burn one I’ll cherish forever. Feeling gratefull and blessed, will see you all next year. 
Thank you for the energy, the hugs, the love.

Akira Salehin, known professionally as Akira, is a DJ and producer hailing from Antwerp, Belgium. Born in 1987, he developed a passion for music at a young age, influenced by both classical and house genres. This early interest evolved into a dynamic career spanning over two decades, during which he has continually refined his unique sound. At 17, Akira began working at the USA Import Record store in Antwerp, immersing himself in the vinyl culture. His dedication led to a residency at the legendary Café d'Anvers, a pivotal venue in his early career. Over the years, Akira has performed internationally, with notable appearances in UK, Norway, USA, Finland, The Netherlands, Romania, Spain, Thailand and events such as Burnig Man, ADE, Tomorrowland and The Gardens of Babylon.
Akira's music is characterised by a seamless blend of electronic and organic elements, creating a storytelling journey that captivates listeners and keeps them moving. His commitment to crafting the perfect groove and flow continues to define his contributions to the electronic music scene. Underground house music in all its shapes and forms.
In 2021, Akira released his debut track "Close To Itajai" on Souksonic, a label curated by Lost Desert. He followed this with a remix of Matias Fittpaldi's "Alas" in 2022. A collaboration with Hermanez was released on the Mooizo label in 2024, reflecting his ongoing evolution as an artist. Akira is diligently working on new music in his home studio, with some very exciting releases planned for the near future.
