“Shedded Skin (Panorama)” is the acoustic piano rendition of the recent Rizik single “Shedded Skin” expressed in its rawest form: one instrument, one take. 

This song represents the artist leaving behind expectations of creating music that fits in a box. While today’s music landscape – driven by playlists and social media algorithms – rewards creators for easily fitting within a genre or identifiable spectrum, “Shedded Skin” was a complete gamble.

“I tend to make music that feels like a journey rather than stick to a traditional format,” Rizik says. “I think ‘Shedded Skin’ reflects my journey as an artist to leave behind expectations, i.e. what this project ought to be, and just let it be; naturally, allowing the process of evolution to unfold.”

As the name implies, "Shedded Skin" is the first Rizik release where I present a fuller, more realized sound than my previous material. There's more to me than piano playing. I tend to make music that feels like a journey or a story rather than stick to a traditional format and I think "Shedded Skin" reflects my journey as an artist to leave behind old skin, i.e. what Rizik ought to be, and just let it be... naturally, allowing the process of evolution to unfold. I hope you enjoy.

Accomplished musician and composer Jackson Mico Milas unveils his debut album this November.  ‘Blu Terra’ brings together eleven tender and emotive compositions and finds the Australian artist hitting his stride.

Having cut his teeth at New York’s Nylon Studios, Jackson has carved out a highly successful career to date, with numerous award-winning film and TV scores under his belt including work for Tim Minchin’s acclaimed Sky Atlantic drama Upright and the Earth Hour campaign which gained him a nomination at the LIA Awards.  Jackson also gained prominence with his band High Highs, who were signed to Elton John’s Rocket Records label, and toured with the likes of Vampire Weekend, Empire Of The Sun and Sky Ferreira.

On ‘Blu Terra’, Jackson comes of age, and delivers a matured and elegant suite of compositions on this debut album, encompassing acoustic, alt-folk and jazz elements to deploy soaring and heartfelt songs.  The long player features a cast of great players, including Tim Lefebvre (David Bowie 'Blackstar'), Robby Sinclair (Chet Faker/Nick Murphy), Troy Simms (Lee Scratch Perry) and Veronique Serret (Joanna Newsom's Y's Street Band). Mixing & production by Dave Harrington of Darkside, and the album is released on Apollo, the home to ground-breaking talent such as Aphex Twin, Nadine Shah, Synkro, Biosphere and many more over its 30-year tenure.
