The future continued to plague him with worry and self doubt. He considered the possibility of remaining young, wild and free forever for he did not want to grow up, old or sideways. The uncertainty which paved the way forwards was blinding at times, like throwing one's self outwards into the abyss. A leap of faith. 

Bakground is set to release a six track EP on what will be Raw Sounds District's fourth release. A delicate assortment of dusty beats and low dlung pads. Listen to a rampant, breakbeat cut from the EP titled "Don't Wanna Grow Up".

There's something unique about the propulsive energy dance music embodies. Skipping endlessly forward while simultaneously sliding down into a hypnotic place of calm; exactly how both happen at once is anyone's guess. To help us ponder this conundrum we've got Shell Tape 40 - local producer @sn33ze is at the helm.

Running through a hazy selection of deep house that runs from classic cuts through to Shazam-eluding digs, Tape 40's handy 40 minutes rolls down the sonic fairway in perfecto cruise control mode - never going too fast or too slow (we'll say a jaunty nine k's over the day to day speed limit.)

For a few moments step out of the jagged suburban streetscape you might currently find your mind and into a gently buzzing metropolis where self-expression and relaxation are the end goal of a rat race that's more of a leisurely stroll. Stop and smell the evening air, have a drink and lose yourself to a bit of house - Birak is just starting to dawn.
