AKOSIA is a force to be reckoned with, a multifaceted artist who loves art and is not afraid to be herself.
She defies genres with her raw mix of pop, jazz, soul, dance, and R&B. She defies labels as a singer-songwriter, actor, model, poet, storyteller, and master of emotions. And she defies the odds, carving her own path as a Black woman in the Australian music industry.

AKOSIA sees the boxes you want to put her in, and uses them as stepping stones to transcend all expectations – all while wearing gold chainmail and sky-high heels. She is limitless. Although known for her soulful voice and honest songwriting, her gift is her ability to blend tear-jerking and uplifting themes,
with catchy choruses, dance beats, and butter-soft vocals.

While her stage persona may be one of a strong and powerful woman, away from the spotlight AKOSIA has fought hard to reclaim the voice she once lost during a difficult time in her life. Her debut EP, "Black Diamond," is a reflection on the last two years, which stretched AKOSIA to the limits of her emotional
abilities. In the throes of the pandemic, AKOSIA lost her father. “Writing helped me process my emotions, the ecstasy and the trauma I went through. I was dealing with so much growth and grief, I didn’t know what to do with it, so I wrapped it up tightly in my songs,” she says.

AKOSIA's creative talents extend beyond music and into various forms of art. She showcased her acting skills as Bast, the Black Panther Goddess of love and fertility, in Marvel's "Thor: Love and Thunder”.
Additionally, she graced the cover of Coles health and beauty magazine and featured in a Maybelline campaign alongside Tash Sultana and Thelma Plum.
With exciting collaborations with various artists in the works, AKOSIA is poised for a big year ahead and is ready to release new music to the world. This is only the beginning – but it’s a damn good place to start.

Her debut EP, "Black Diamond," lives up to its name by being a rare and precious gem full of sparkling potential. As an artist, AKOSIA possesses the same creative energy that forms diamonds, and she is sure to leave her mark on the music industry.
