The slow and groovy EP explores Emma Cheruto's impressive vocal range as she tackles complex themes of love, loss and relationship struggles. The project highlights the inescapable cycle of love. You never know if you are dealing with your everlasting love or just caught up in the cycle. The flow of the songs is symbolic, starting out with ‘’Nice Car’’ which talks about the immediate admiration of seeing someone you fancy, and as the E.P. progresses one can see the slow change from love to doubt, and inevitably hurt, loss and all their passionate dynamics. This brings the story to a halt at ‘’Circles’’ where she sings about the wonder of finding love after all of that. Across the 8 tracks, Emma navigates the cycle of love expressing the passionate highs and the heartbreaking lows of relationships.

'Njamba' a Kikuyu phrase meaning 'A warrior'. The title to our new single release with Kenyan based musician Ayrosh Composed by Gondwana resident SURAJ & Botswana's very own Team Distant layering their signature sounds and authentic rhythm to fuse right with Ayrosh's powerful vocal making this a central Kenyan song.

Episode 8 of The NAIROBI CONNECT sees me take a step back from the decks to welcome SHISHI and ICHE to showcase two one hr mixes repping Kenyan female DJS all the way!

SHISHI's set is all Nairobi music showing the breadth of the Hip Hop / RnB sound that she is so invested in. ICHE's set was recorded from her debut show at Diamond Beach, Lamu. Mombaa based ICHE presents an African Electronic set, smooth, sexy and meditative.

The Nairobi Connect w LASTA, SHISHI & ICHE - Episode 8 Jan 2021

Akoth Jumadi, A SOUND ARCHITECT, marked an important entry into the New Music decade (2020’s) and shifted gears into a new generation sound that challenged the status quo of the times, adressed the role played in the collective liberation of Humanity and provided new solutions for existing in a world shifting slowly to accommodate the ever changing, unpredictable nature of these times. 
Handing a freedom torch towards each and every person. 
Crafting ethereal folk sounds with Contemporary and Tribal elements,Akoth Jumadi explores themes of love, healing, spiritual emancipation, political liberation and Cultural integration in the arts.
