"For our new Planet Ibiza Music release we have the honour to premiere the first EP from AkpaLa. AkpaLa is the new Organic House project of Pedro Mercado together with Na Té. Pedro Mercado is a known name from the Progressive House and Melodic Techno scene, reaching regularly the Beatport Top 100 on many highly regarded international labels. Next to that Pedro is also one of the core members and resident-dj of our Planet Ibiza brand, plus the label manager of our successful sister label Chrom Recordings.

During the pandemic and lockdowns Pedro got more and more into Organic House and with this new "AkpaLa" monniker he wants to make a clear distinction from his peaktime Melodic style. For this project he teamed up with his wife Na Té, a multi-talented female artist who also created a unique personal Soul Art cover for this EP. In the past Pedro and Na Té released already several deeper tracks and remixes together. But starting from 2022 they are using the monniker "AkpaLa" for their collab tracks. Sexy, bohemian, oriental, ethnic, shamanic and spiritual sounds with a female touch is their style, inspired by events such as Burning Man and Gardens of Babylon. Last year they released already 2 official remixes as AkpaLa, for Marcovits on Uzons and for Matt Dwellers on Chrom. And now it's finally time for their first EP, containing not less than 3 original tracks. We invite you to discover their catchy Organic House sound in this new Planet Ibiza Music release, called "Tadadum"!"

AkpaLa is the brand-new Organic House project of Pedro Mercado and Na Te: sexy, bohemian, hedonistic, oriental, ethnic, shamanic & spiritual sounds with a female touch – inspired by events such as Burning Man & Gardens of Babylon – is to be expected from them! Starting from 2022 their collab productions and their sets will be performed as “AkpaLa” instead of just “Pedro Mercado & Na Te”.

Pedro Mercado is one of the most known Belgian DJ/Producers in the Progressive House and Melodic Techno scene, reaching regularly the Beatport Top 100 on many highly regarded international labels (Parquet, Krafted Underground, Tanzgemeinschaft, Particles, Proton, Bonzai, Frequenza, Natura Viva, Dear Deer, Beatfreak, Manual, Awen, Project 13,...) which gets him gigs all over the world. He is also label manager of Chrom Recordings. During the pandemic and lockdowns he got more and more into Organic House and with this new “AkpaLa” monniker he wants to make a clear distinction from his usual and known Progressive & Melodic style.

Na Te is a multi-talented female artist: next to her DJ/Producer skills she is also making micro-macrame jewellery & channelled light-language artwork, and offering spiritual guidance under the name Blueyespiritlight.
In the past Pedro Mercado & Na Te released already several tracks & remixes together and 5 years ago they started a weekly radio show on Ibiza Global Radio. Nowadays they host monthly radioshows on Frisky Radio (Nomadland) & Proton Radio (Up-To-Deep). They are both also resident-DJs of the Planet Ibiza brand and performed already B2B in Belgium, Ibiza & Berlin. Starting from 2022 they will use the monniker “AkpaLa” for their collab tracks and their solo and/or B2B sets in Organic House.
