What is democracy?  

Is it really the policy marketplace that masquerades as governance by and for the people in most western nations?  What does buying politicians and laws have to do with democracy?  What does imprisoning whistleblowers and framing activists to try and silence them have to do with democracy? 

The US imperialist regime destroys countries and massacres countless innocent people in the name of spreading "democracy", but what are they actually spreading?  The only thing that spreads through war and death is more war and death.  In reality, the governments of the US, UK and EU are at best barely more democratic than China -- just less honest.  

Don't be dazzled by the specter of western democracy.  It's nothing but buzzwords and empty promises and fake smiling con artists.  When it's inconvenient to the true masters of western civilization, democracy can go fuck itself, and it does.

Democracy

Aung San Suu Kyi is back in prison after briefly presiding over a democratically elected government in Myanmar. She is once again one of many political prisoners facing indefinite detention, torture and death at the hands of Min Aung Hlaing's military dictatorship. Since the the coup in February 2021, over 2,300 people have been killed, over 16,000 arrested, and over 1 million displaced.

The Myanmar people are fighting back though. The Civil Disobedience Movement has pushed the economy to the breaking point. Armed militia groups known as People's Defence Forces have teamed up with ethnic armed organizations who have been fighting the Myanmar military for years. These groups protect civilians from junta soldiers and attack military facilities and officials. There is now a parallel Myanmar government run by the resistance, called the National Unity Government.

This situation remains dire. Myanmar is now effectively in a civil war. Its citizens live in constant fear. The junta burns villages, bombs and terrorizes civilians. Myanmar's health care system is in collapse after national strikes and Covid-19. Schools are empty as students reject a junta-backed education. Businesses can’t operate, and people are starving.

This track was originally produced in 2009, the last time Aung San Suu Kyi was a political prisoner. It has received some upgrades and was remixed for the new era of Myanmar's freedom struggle.

The box is designed around your identity to confuse you with the illusion of choice.  In reality, this choice just limits who you imagine yourself to be.  The advertiser exploits this limitation and crams you deeper into your pigeon hole.  Advertising is the basis of the new mechanism of social control.  

We submit to the all-seeing hive mind voluntarily.  We happily hand over the reigns of our identity to advertisers, political trolls and other data aggregators.  Underneath the friendly facade of social media however, the enemies of freedom are lurking, picking us off one by one.

Passport

Kelly Kwalik was a West Papuan freedom fighter. He was assassinated by Indonesian police on December 16th, 2009. He waged a resistance movement from the jungles against the Indonesian military and American mining giant, Freeport McMoran. He and his devoted followers fought tanks, helicopters and machine guns with spears, machetes and arrows.

This video and track are a tribute to the great Kelly Kwalik by AK Rockefeller. The music centers around recordings of Kelly Kwalik himself and his fellow warriors singing about their trials being chased by the Indonesian military through remote jungles of West Papua -  the refrain being "We are going to die."
