In the summer of 2013, Above & Beyond performed some of their best-loved songs acoustically as part of a 15-piece band, across four sold out shows at London's famous Porchester Hall which formed the basis of the "Above & Beyond Acoustic" studio album. The album was recorded in the spring and summer of 2013 and features a 24-piece orchestra. 

"The acoustic project is a reconnection with the musicians that we were before we met", said Above & Beyond's Tony McGuinness. "The songs have been on an interesting journey to get here because we tend to write in a fairly acoustic way anyway. We don't just stick a bit of vocal over a dance track - that's not how we work. We try to start with a song and it's usually only later down the line that we take certain elements from that song and progress them into a more dancefloor-friendly version".

With Above & Beyond "Acoustic", the group are putting aside their CDJs and lighting rigs to showcase their deeply-rooted musicianship and classical training. A band first and foremost, Above & Beyond are songwriters as much as they are DJs. Working with three singers, a string quartet, harpist, drummer and bassist, Above & Beyond are pushing the boundaries of dance music. Tony McGuinness sings and plays guitar, mandolin and ukulele, Paavo Siljamäki plays the grand piano and cello, and Jono Grant plays the Rhodes piano, guitar and vibraphone.

Esteemed artists Nico Stojan and Timujin make their debut on Rebellion this May with Oktoberfest, a powerful three track release that sees the duo collaborate for the very first time. 

Nico explains “this EP is made up of older tracks that Timur and myself made together two years ago whilst I was in London. We invited two musician friends and spent some days together in different studios.” The EP opens with the echoing charm of the title track, as a hypnotic vocal sample asserts itself in a foreign language. Next up, the guitar chords of Satsang gently pluck away as flutes whirr behind a tempered kick. Higher Altitude rounds the EP, as a guitar solo rolls along before giving way to a poignant array of shimmering maraca sounds. 

A native to Berlin, Nico Stojan has been a presence in the electronic music sphere for more than two decades. Having cut his teeth in the German capital with a residency at Bar 25, the talented DJ soon went on to form Ouie Records, alongside Acid Pauli. Previous releases can also be found on the likes of Crosstown Rebels and Physical Records. Timujin is one of Russia’s finest exports. A regular of Burning Man, he has also released on Flying Circus, Earthly Delights and Dope Musique, and is the founder of the international art and sound collective, White Ocean.

boerd delivers serene new single ‘Look’, lifted from his upcoming album ‘Misplaced’.

Following his first introspective single with Stella Explorer, ‘Before We Drown’, which demonstrated his capacity for emotive songwriting and live instrumentation, boerd now returns with second single ‘Look’.

A showcase of intricate sound design, ‘Look’ features nuanced percussion amongst a warm experimental fog of synthesizers.

As a regular member of the Royal Swedish Opera, Swedish Radio Symphony, and Stockholm Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, Ericson has also proven himself as an accomplished bass player for numerous ensembles around the world. Touring Tokyo, Stockholm, and New York, the producer performed in the Philip Glass opera ‘Satyagraha’ earlier this year (including four sold out shows in Brooklyn’s illustrious Harvey Theatre). Bård also recently contributed as a member of Andrea Bocelli’s orchestra throughout his Scandinavian tour.

This deep immersion in the classical world of opera and orchestra is masterfully exhibited in boerd’s upcoming album ‘Misplaced’, out December 3rd.

Dennis Cruz makes his first outing on his newly launched MÜSE imprint as he delivers 'Get Them Up' to close September.

A leading talent with releases via likes of Solid Grooves, Hot Creations, Moon Harbour and Crosstown Rebels, Madrid's Dennis Cruz is undeniably one of the most in-demand artists within house and tech house, with appearances in 2019 alone including sets at Watergate (Berlin), Amnesia, Pacha, Ushuaïa and Privilege (Ibiza), Studio 338 and E1 (London), and Defected Croatia to name just a few. The "Ancestral Elephants“ project is born out of love for creation and creativity, inspired by festivals, music, people, traveling different cultures and realms.

In a clashing of dancefloor titans, Hot Creations label boss Jamie Jones joins forces with Cuttin’ Headz curators The Martinez Brothers in the studio for the first time to churn out their new, slamming and anthemic tune 'Bappi' - set to drop on October 11 via Hot Creations.

“After being friends and DJing together for so many years, the bro’s and I finally got into my studio in LA together at the start of the year," Jones explains. Ben Böhmer & Monolink - Black Hole

' Miami based duo Steve Sanx and Rico from Paris are Wolf Story, the next act up on Get Physical Music.

Between them this pair has a rich heritage that dates back to the nineties and takes in running labels like Goldentears and Bimini Records and DJing with Popof. Together they have shaken the walls of clubs all over Europe as well as festivals like Movement. They starred on the Defected Ibiza 2018 Compilation and have had props from Kevin Saunderson, so are a well-established duo always making moves.

The gorgeous ‘Heart Love’ is suitably emotive, with dancing drums and glowing keys, soaring synths and expressive, dreamy vocals all uplifting your soul. The pianos are played with real feeling, and the string stabs only enrich things further to make this the sort of lush, open air house track to get hands in the air and the love flowing.

The second superb offering is ‘Between The World And Me’, which is just as impressively musical but on a more downbeat and introspective tip. Again fleshed out with beautiful chords and keys, bird calls and deeper drums play off while you wallow in the midst of this most heart-warming track.

Wolf Story really conjure up some magic here, on this latest gem from Get Physical Music'

Endorsed by the likes of Crosstown Rebel's Damian Lazarus, Danish titan Noir and LNOE boss Sasha, the UK’s John Monkman takes on 'You and I’, emphasising the original’s vocal hook with addictive stuttered synths. With releases on Radiant and Saved Records, Black Circle makes his Anjunadeep debut with his remix of ‘Into The Night’, an afro-centric piece full of driving arpeggios. Lastly, label debutant Ben Yang imparts his tech-house sound to Eli & Fur’s ‘You and I’, a remix reminiscent of Anjunadeep’s progressive roots.

Inspired by his time on the Ionian Coast during Anjunadeep’s Explorations festival, ‘Albanian Summer’ features the San Franciscan’s characteristically catchy synths and progressive basslines. On the track’s influence, Luttrell explains; "it encapsulates the good vibes of Anjunadeep Explorations and brings me back to those beautiful moments. When I played this song on Dhermi beach, watching everyone dance around like crazy, I knew the song was going to be named after Albania and that experience.”
