Club Glow are back with another instalment of our cassette series and this time we’ve enlisted some outside help

Please join us in giving a warm welcome to AK Sports & Kessler who both provide an amazing array of sonics for the label. We’ve been fans of theirs for ages and its been a great pleasure to work with them on this project. They've pushed themselves out of their comfort zones to deliver something we think is truly outstanding.

On the A side AK Sports kicks off with her signature infusion of 4x4 kicks, film & tv samples and aggy breakbeats. Earworms a plenty!

On the flip, Kessler charges ahead with true breakbeat wizardry, fluttering through the BPMs with such ease, his sides packed with Jungle, Electro and that 130 goodness.

If you’ve locked into our radio show or live streams over the last 12 months you will no doubt have heard some of these already.

Awakenings Podcast S355 - AK SPORTS

Raised in Australia, now based between LA and London, AK SPORTS has become fast loved for their melting pot of rave, techno, trance, electro, breakbeat and hybrid psy-trance. An artist whose productions have caught a lot of attention, after their label Club Madhouse launched with a VA in 2024 listed as one of Mixmag’s ‘Best Album Of 2024’ following Dummy Mag
crowning AK as ‘one of the best emerging producers’. AK SPORTS’s remix of Peaches ‘Pussy Mask’ was a release highlight last year, and now reveals their next EP ‘TIMELINE SHIFT’ due out on the 8th August. Released as singles, it kicked off with the high-octane 'IN DA CLERB WE ALL FAM’ released on the 15th of May, blending pumping hard groove rhythms with chunky house chords and their own vocals.

‘FEED THE FREQUENCY’ (PUSH THE TEMPO) due out on the 5th June turns up the heat, emulating 90’s modular techno and a vocal line even The Prodigy would be proud of, courtesy of AK, using their vocals for the first time on any release across the whole EP, launching a new chapter in their career. “A big inspiration for this track was modular synth work and the GOATS underworld. I wanted to emulate the hypnotic yet poetic and uplifting vocal style that is somewhere between singing and talking” – says AK.

“A track that is like my sets, it’s hard, fast and fun”. A statement that sums up the energy of ‘WORK HARDER’ the third single to be released on the 11th July. AK strips back the production with this single, but keeps the tempo and energy high, creating a playful club banger, with some bouncy electro elements. “You get the jist, it's naughty and a little nice” – adds AK.

Everyone knows the only way to properly close out the EP like this is with a bang, and so ‘HELLRAISER’ does just that with breakneck Hard Techno energy and an absolutely ripping bassline. “I wrote these lyrics thinking about the iconic Keith Flint, forever in our hearts and on the dancefloor”.

Like AK’s sets that are hard, fast and sun, this EP touches on various moods and influences all under the neo-rave umbrella, as it waves its way between 90’s and hard techno, big beat, hard groove and hard dance with AK’s vocals and playful punk energy as the through line.

AK SPORTS’s ‘TIMELINE SHIFT’ EP’ will be released on Club Madhouse on the 8th August, following singles ‘FEED THE FREQUENCY’ (PUSH THE TEMPO) on the 5th June, and ‘WORK HARDER’ on the 11th July.
