Happy new year! We have the feeling, this I going to be a good one. And, as if to prove us right, New York-based producer Nhii is starting it off with a bang. ‚Kykeon of Cobble Hill‘, his new three-track EP, is electric, trippy and mysterious. The title track, as well as the B-side ‚Branches of the same Tree‘ don’t skimp on eclectic charm while still fulfilling their prime objective: these are grooves made for the dance floor, deep-yet-bouncy and so, so wonderfully made.

PrΛ.Λ.H - productor y lutier franco colombiano- en colaboración con Festival Nómade más ocho artistas europeos y latinoamericanos, han dado forma a “Chamada”, un EP de remixes del single del mismo nombre. Esta canción fue producida por Praah con la intención de unir varios continentes, integrando idiófonos (Sanza) por la parte africana, aerófonos japoneses (Hotchiku) y flautas y ocarinas por la parte de americana precolombina. 

“Chamada Remixes” avanza desde un sonido orgánico y suave, muy profundo, adquiriendo tintes electrónicos pulidos y progresivos. Evoluciona de manera natural, logrando generar nuevas texturas, gracias a las versiones de productores amigos con búsquedas sonoras complementarias. 

Así comienza a tomar forma concreta una familia musical fundada en el intercambio, el amor y el respeto. Chamada Remixes es la primera producción de una serie de trabajos colectivos que ya están empezando a gestarse y serán liberados de manera gratuita por plataformas de fácil acceso. 

Praah es productor y lutier franco colombiano, su búsqueda sonora es un río ancho conformado por la unión de dos vertientes: música tradicional y sutiles sonoridades electrónicas y Deep. 
Los remixes se fueron producidos por los artistas: Vruno (Chile) Pigmaliao (Brasil) RLHBSLCN (Argentina) Dandara (Suiza) Steffen Kirchhoff(Alemania) Trippin Jaguar (Holanda) y Matanza (Chile)

The whole melodic-technoid thing might be well established already. However, believe it or not: Seth Schwarz and Westerby take it to a yet another level. Their track Aphelion has truly symphonic dimensions and opens a hidden bonus stage in the heads of the dancefloor. Here you can easily lose yourself in a morphing maze of kaleidoscopic patterns that is the multi-layered flow of the melody. Excellent fuel for collective high-altitude flights. NordFold & Budakid provide a remix for all those who prefer it a bit more minimalist, whereas Mollono.Bass lives up to his signature style and pushes Aphelion a notch further towards boost and pressure.

Das melodisch-technoide Ding mag sich bereits bestens bewährt haben. Aber, so unglaublich es auch klingt: Seth Schwarz und Westerby heben es hier nochmal auf ein ganz neues Niveau. Mit Aphelion stoßen die beiden in symphonisch-technoide Dimensionen vor und öffnen dabei in den Köpfen der Tanzfläche ein verstecktes Bonus-Level. Darin kann man sich in den fließenden Kaleidoskop-Mustern der vielschichtigen Melodie ganz wunderbar verlieren und austoben. Perfekte Voraussetzungen für einen kollektiven Höhenflug also. NordFold & Budakid kredenzen dazu einen Remix für jene Zeitgenossen, die es gerne einen Tick minimalistischer mögen und Mollono.Bass schiebt Aphelion mit routinierter Geste eine Idee weiter in Richtung Rumms.

Der Song „Aerials“ von System of a Down hat @sarkis_mikael dazu inspiriert, einen neuen Track aufzunehmen: „System of a Down ist eine meiner Lieblingsbands aller Zeiten. Man kann in dem Track den Klang eines Duduks (ein Holzblasinstrument mit einem extrem großen Doppelrohrblatt) hören, das ich für eines der emotionalsten Instrumente halte.“ Das armenische Instrument war für den Musiker bereits eine Inspiration in mehreren anderen Tracks, die er produzierte. „Aufgenommen wurde „Aerials in the Dark“ in meinem Studio in Los Angeles."
