Technique

"Somnus" is the Roman god of sleep. A "protocol" implies a scientific, systematic procedure. So, the album is presented as an auditory log of a clinical experiment—a series of controlled ventures into the human subconscious. This clinical, detached framing creates a cool contrast with the deep, emotional, and often chaotic nature of dreams, which is perfect for the dub/deep techno sound.

Pysh is moving mountains, with releases on leading melodic techno labels such as Traum, Einmusika and Steyoyoke. This time he comes with a great EP on the Indian imprint @qilla Records! Here we present you the remix of fellow producer Midnight Traffick of his song "Journey" that will be released on June 11th. Midnight Traffick is well on his way to becoming yet another Indian rising star with releases on Qilla Records as well. 

Midnight Traffick's remix starts of with a techy bass and straightforward techno beat, making it very DJ-friendly. Before long, he introduces a set of percussive elements that is part of his sound. The track progresses slowly, with more and more sounds coming into play. The entire piece stays quite minimal and mesmerizing until about halfway where a dissonant synth takes up the attention. From there the track really opens up with multiple synths taking the listener's attention. Finally the track climaxes into a strong breakdown filled with percussion and juicy snares!

A couple of months ago I visited and toured one of my favourite countries in the world. I had such a great time and enjoyed the coolest experiences while playing at some amazing parties. As a token of appreciation for all the support i’m happy to share with you this set which was recorded during one of my gigs in Argentina. A todos nos toca afrontar los cambios. A todos nos toca ser parte de la historia. La pandemia marcó el final de la “normalidad”, y es cierto que lo “normal” ya no estaba bien. Ahora, el mundo y sus sociedades comienzan a cambiar, a florecer en un verano que es muy distinto a los anteriores. Nos toca reflexionar, poner sobre la mesa todas esas discusiones que, durante años negamos y escondimos en lo más profundo del inconsciente colectivo: sexismo, machismo, racismo, xenofobia, pederastia... Hoy, nos toca afrontar los cambios, tomar esos pequeños instantes y entregarnos a ellos, entregarnos al abismo, a la oscuridad... atravesar furiosamente ese velo y llegar a la luz. Hoy nos toca a todos ser responsables del mundo, y nos toca luchar por los/las que ya no están, por los/las que desaparecieron, por los/las que olvidamos... Hoy, nos toca afrontar los cambios, nos toca florecer. 

Padouc, grabó un podcast que sirve como interludio a su próximo EP; “Calakmul” que se estrena el 15 de junio en nuestro sello. Esta sesión musical es titulada: "One stroke of a wing, change the world in your head", y nos parece muy pertinente para la situación actual que vivimos como individuos y como sociedad. Disfruta de este viaje trascendental de cincuenta y seis minutos con veintiséis segundos.
