Banyan Records presents CROOKED MIND, a forest-dark psy project created in 2012 by Jose Montenegro from Costa Rica. After many years involved in psychedelic events and playing as a DJ, influenced by many great artists in the scene, Jose decided to create his own style of psytrance music, a deep forest dark trance vibe ranging between 150bpm - 165bpm aiming towards deep dancing meditation with powerful bass lines, hypnotic percussive layers and organic textures always trying to convey original stories for the listeners. Crooked Mind will be launching his 3rd EP this year with Banyan Records labels and has a lot of contributions with multiple labels across the globe. This live set contains tracks for his upcoming EP on Banyan Records plus a few single tracks released in collaboration with other record labels this year.

In today's world many people seem to have awakened and recognized the Holy Fire burning in each living thing, and although they are aware of it, the spiritual reality begets visited episodically and easily the sight of eternity is lost. It happens that even those who are in line with the cosmic dynamics, drift away, go through phases of disconnection, forgetting where they belong. This album aspires to remind us of our origins and that in every breath, in every word, in every act, in every moment, we are here, we exist in an impersonal intelligent construct of creation. When one can be in the instant, fully concentrated, living presently in every moment, that one dissolves from the equation of time and space and merges there where there is no beginning, no end. There where the One truly is. Every day is to be consecrated, rendered into something special, unique, something received. Be grateful, be here, give thanks and praises because every day is indeed sacred.

Akurra is a dark psychedelic music project originating from Western Australia.
Beginning music at an early age with guitar, original influences came from Metal, Punk and Prog Rock. After making bands and performing in this scene, interest in electronic and computer music came after a discovery of infinite sonic possibly with machines.

Now experimenting with different mediums Akurra uses many creative tools from analog synthesis to live field recordings to draw inspiration and channel his own expression into the work. This is a personal release of energy.

The result is fast, hard, dark psychedelic trance with synthetic machine type leads supported by organically collected atmospheres presented in ways to evoke internal thought, stimulate imagination and sometimes cause confusion. 
Although the style may evolve and change with time the core of Akurra’s purpose will always stay the same:
To unleash unrelenting, chaotic force.

The name Akurra is respectfully borrowed from the Adnyamathanha people of the Flinders Ranges, South Australia.  Akurra is a great snake deity, sometimes associated with the Rainbow Serpent. Adnyamathanha elders describe a giant water snake with a bearded mane, scales and sharp fangs, whose movements shaped the land.
