AKUTE (Mogilev, Belarus)

Akute was formed in 2008 in Mogilev, Belarus. Music side of the band is influenced by New Order, The Cure, Placebo, The Killers, Interpol. Lyrical side – under impression from literature by Asimov, Bradbury, Strugatskys and other science fiction writers of XX century, enhances by the melodic charm of Belarusian language.

The band came into spotlight in 2010 through club gigs and festival wins. In 2011 they gained first proper fame in 2011 with the critically acclaimed debut album “Dzievachki i kosmas”. In 2012 second full-length “Nie isnuje” and a row of successful solo shows around Belarus followed.

In September 2012 Akute played a support slot for Placebo in Minsk – they were chosen by the band. The performance was received with great enthusiasm by both public and press, and gave Akute a new wave of public attention. The year-end awards confirmed Akute as one of the most prominent modern rock bands of the country.
