when I started making music, there was this one kick I tended to use all the time, which simply came with Reason.
...out of a random hit of nostalgia, I decided to try to use it again, just for the lulz. I also, somehow, ended up automatically doing quite a couple of things the way I used to back in the day... so much so, that this basically ended up being a pastiche of my really old stuff, except _way_ less distorted. And thus I named it Echo... because it kinda is an echo from the past.

So... this one is more of a random little exercise in stupidity.

I'm working on modeling a computer which does not exist, which could semi-plausibly be from the late '80s in Blender (so, a 3D model) and upon wondering what kind of sound that computer could have, I decided to come up with a semi-arbitrary list of restrictions (which ended up being less restricted than a AY-3-8910, but also a bit more restricted than a SID) and then went ahead and "build" an "emulation" of that fantasy-chip in Reason... and, well, this is the result.

The name is also a bit roundabout: it came from me thinking the line "making music with things that never were". That line reminded me of the novel Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman, after which I then named the track. It's a fun little novel. I recommend it.

Neverwhere

A track I really struggled to make... mostly because I have a bout of writers block, and also just because I am tired of _everything_.

Anyway, as for the name, jamais-vu is kind of the opposite of a déjà-vu... it is the feeling of a situation, person, or place to be completely unfamiliar, despite actually being familiar. A rather... alienating feeling.
I was also thinking about calling track "Derealization", "Incongruency", or just "404"... but then I decided to go with the fancy french term, because of course I would do that.

Jamais-Vu

Real Life™ has recently just been... blergh. Which also pretty much drained my creativity dry...
Thus, have this: a simple Metal track, I named after a shortened quote from one of my favourite novels... that is: Neuromancer.

I honestly don't have much to say. Stuff is just kinda too much. That's about it.
Anyway, have fun...

A Dead Channel

Whelp... since this was meant to be my track for october, aka. the best month, and it is... kinda (I think) horror-esque sounding, I decided to name this otherwise pretty typical-for-me metal/synthwave-hybrid track "Strange Æons".

...in case it isn't clear why: 
"That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons, even death may die." is a quote from H.P. Lovecraft's short story "The Nameless City". Within the story, the exceedingly punchable protagonist recalls that Abdul Alhazred, the in-universe author of the Kitab al Azif, better known as the Necronomicon, uttered that specific, apparently unexplained couplet the day after dreaming of the Nameless City the story is ironically named after... later stories establish that the couplet is actually from the Necronomicon.
It doesn't really relate to anything in the story itself and serves mostly just as a somewhat random piece of worldbuilding.
Still, for as little sense as the couplet makes, and for unrelated to anything it is, it does kinda stick in one's head.

...and yes, that does make this the second track of mine in a row that is named after a literary quote; "A Dead Channel" being named after literally the first sentence of William Gibson's novel Neuromancer.
...no, that was not on purpose, and I only noticed it myself after I rendered this track.
...no, I do not plan on naming a third track this way.

Strange Æons

Well... This was rather interesting to make...
...mostly because everything aside from the snare, crash, and the guitars (duh) is made using a Neutron... that is, a small, semimodular, two oscillator, analogue hardware monosynth.
That is also where the name comes from: "Neutron" made me think of neutron stars (a type of collapsed/dead star) and from there I thought about stargazing... thus I named the track "Stargazer".
I did, however, just use my usual DAW (that is: Reason... version 12 by now) to record and mix everything... I am not daft enough to try and start making everything purely analogue.

First track I release in 2022!... So~, Happy New Year everybody!
Also earlier this year than I planned to, but, hey, what else ya gonna do on the 1st of January at, like, 7 am with your skull being made of pure pain?

Anyway, I suppose I should explain the title? It is a direct reference to the PSX game Serial Experiments Lain, which I only managed to finally play last year. It is quite a bit darker than the anime.
...serious content warning, tho: do not look up what the reference is about if the topic of su*cide is not good for you. In fact: do not look up the game at all unless you feel mentally safe to handle surprisingly graphic content and the topics of mental illness, self harm, and su*cide. The game does NOT care jack to hold back.
Still, that out of the way: once I finished the game, watching the credits, I pretty much instantly thought that I will need to name a track after it, simply because it left that much of an impression on me.
And thus, I now did.

Just musically it is my pretty usual synthwave/metal-hybrid, probably leaning harder towards the synth rather than the metal... also, least for being from me, rather melodic.

Have the annual dysangelion track, this time named Necrologue... 
Dysangelion is just a secondary pseudonym I use for music of a specific sound.
Not much to say... had an excuse to just use an actual skull for the "cover art" for once, so, I went with that. In case the word is unfamiliar, a "necrologue", more or less, just means "obituary". I named it that for personal reasons I'd rather not share... it does not sound like the band Obituary, however.

Anyway, have fun...

dysangelion - Necrologue

This one is... odd insofar that it is too Metal to be EDM, but also way too EDM to be Metal.
Aside from that, the name "HEX" refers to hexadecimal... mostly named it that because the Bass and the Kick are made from a single-cycle-sample of a waveform I created via emulating a digital oscillator (made up of a clock, counter, SRAM (acting as a LUT) and a simple R-2R DAC) in a circuit simulator app... 
yeah, probably the most roundabout way I ever synthesized a sound.
and yes, the numbers on the cover "art" are indeed the numbers I programed into the virtual SRAM...

Whelp, what to say...
Musically my usual crossover of Synth and Metal (by this point, I kinda think I just found my niche... least for the time being)...
Also relatively upbeat for being something I made.

...random side note: at the time I am making this, I actually really like/am happy with how the Kick and Snare sound... place your bets how long that holds up. A week? Maybe a Month? Even longer than that? Unlikely, but, who knows. :P

As for the name: it is german (ya know, my actual native language) and translates to "Existence (Is Not Up For Debate)". 
Why that name? Well, aside from it being *somewhat* short (unlike any other idea I had) it is also probably the tamest (I am, for some reason, just immensely irritated today, thus any idea I had was, at best, angry)

And, also: it is (at the time of making this) June... that is: Pride Month. So, in case the chosen colors were not big enough a hint, there is that.

Existenz (Steht Nicht Zur Debatte)

A track *without* guitars! ... also technically merely 90 bpm, but the drums play in double-time... they also do not play a straight four-to-the-floor...
...yeah, basically, this is a somewhat fast, and quite trance-y D'n'B track.

As for the name "We Still Are"? Honestly, for once, no deeper meaning. I just merely liked the sound of it.

Well... I dunno what to say.
Aside from it have been taken oddly long to make (guess I have a bit of a writer's block) it is, musically, the usual Cybersynth-y stuff I make... Meaning: anticipate linndrums, mostly japanese synths, and heavily distorted guitars... even if it is on the softer/more melodic end of the spectrum.

The name Roaming is just a case of me deciding on a whim that I like the word, so, that shall be the name ._.

I really don't know what else to say for the music itself... I mean, I used a synth I just bought the other day (the cherry audio eight voice), but it mostly just sounds... ya know... like what I do... I kinda make everything just sound like me, huh?

As for the name "Ash Ridge"... I literally named it for the Ash Ridge PRC, of which I am a part of... if you know, you know.

I was tempted to call it Wolperdinger simply because it mixes a lot of things that seemingly don't go together.

...also: no, I have no idea what it is with acidic sounds this year, I just kinda like them, I suppose.

Onwards To The End

My good friend DD, aka. Dead-Drop -( https://soundcloud.com/dead-drop )- had the idea to collaborate on a track... 

We did collaborate before, but that was literally years ago and we both were far more green and the output was... a lot noisier to say the least, and, while I still think at least I am far away from "experienced producer", we did make this track in what amounts to record time for us both and, in contrast, it is easy to hear how far we both came, musically.

The name "In Another Time" is derived from the nostalgia that came up from working together again.

I had a blast making this, and I hope you enjoy it.

Have some synthwave... possibly... maybe also metal... or something else, as if I know.

This was more work then it might sound like... For some reason, this actually brings my computer to it's knees when played back in-DAW.

Which also is the reason for the name of the track: it reminded me of the past when, thanks to having a toaster of a computer, I always had to work around the limitations... which got me nostalgic and then in a weird "man, some stuff that is normal now used to be science fiction"-kinda mood.

So, I named this "As Future Becomes Past" as some kind of memento mori.

No, this is no April Fool's joke, I just randomly decided to release this today.
Despite Metal being somewhat common for me to make, this specific track is a bit unusual for a few reasons... main one being that it has something you could call a "lead guitar", if you feel generous.

Special thanks to my good friend DD for coming up with the name... because for the love of everything, I couldn't come up with an idea what to name this.

This insanity is the result of me wanting to use something other than natural minor, and thus deciding to blindly click on a list of scales, which gave me harmonic minor.
...I have no explanation as to why this resulted in me mixing breakbeats, metal, and some (pseudo-)neoclassical-ish sounds, but... well, there it is.

Nighttime Banquet

Why would I name a track this, aside from the obvious reasons? In this case, because I noticed that, despite being pretty unknown person, I STILL am blocked by a number of AfD accounts over on twitter... which made me laugh, and I decided to increase that number via really unsubtle means.
So, yeah, this track is called NoAfD because screw the AfD, and because I am a bit petty at times.

Have fun... also, this is pretty loud, just as a warning.

Played around with FamiTracker, as I wanted to make some random chiptune-ish thing, and also felt slightly masochistic (I don't like trackers... at all)
Coaxed this thing out of it...
The only "mastering" here is that I cut off a bit of silence at the end, and also just amplified the whole thing to -1dB peak. That's it. The rest is "raw" FamiTracker in PAL mode with just the standard 2A07 channels. 

The name is... half random, half a way too roundabout reference to the way less upbeat unfiction twitter Conspiracy Research Club.

Anyway, hope ya enjoy.

PS: the track is, as now usual, released under CC BY-SA, the "buy" link is more meant like a hat to toss a coin into, if you feel like it... actually, that is always the idea behind it.

It is short and a solid block... so, you know what you're in for.

This... was supposed to be just a little, straightforward Punk track... Then I decided that HM-2 on guitar and MT-2 on bass might be nice.
Also: This was supposed to have vocals... and indeed I even have finished lyrics, but, my jawbone told me no uncertain terms that performing halfway decent vocals is just not gonna happen currently...
